I don't know what you're getting at but from what I've seen, this fan is facing realityOur fan base is very special
Lack of depth, which inevitably rears it's ugly head in a collision sport.Seems like the overall level of play has declined. The coaching and roster turnover has led to flawed, inconsistent teams this year instead of super teams. Tons of mediocre teams that can be had on any given Saturday.
Very true, and after watching Indiana and Michigan today, some of the teams at the top aren’t that good either. I don’t think Michigan is better than Penn State at all and they took Indiana to overtime.Seems like the overall level of play has declined. Correct...most of these games are just about who makes a mistake at the wrong time. A turnover, blown coverage, poor coaching, etc. It's Ohio State then everyone else with Maryland Rutgers and debatably Michigan State at the bottom. Ohio State may also slide back without Sayin.Very true, and after watching Indiana and Michigan today, some of the teams at the top aren’t that good either. I agree. Teams look disorganized and quality of play is worse. So we're paying out the wazoo for an inferior product. $ and unrestricted transfers are ruining college football in so many ways.Seems like the overall level of play has declined. There are not nearly enough good players to support the free flow from team to team in portal. In pros there are 32 teams with 70ish players including practice squad and they all cannot move every year. In college 120 teams with 105 players. With all the moving having and maintaining coherent team “chemistry” and coordination is going to be challenging. Few teams with lots of $$$$ going to get best players which will counter the disorganization and lack continuity. Everyone else going to be struggling. Until and unless CBA with rules on free agency it’s going to continue like thisI agree. Teams look disorganized and quality of play is worse. This is the worst of the three portal QBs for Cignetti. Hoover looks very average out there at best.QB play in the BIG this year may be the worst of the Power 4 leagues. I am pressed to think of a single team that has better QB play this year versus last year in the BIG---maybe Iowa, Purdue and Minnesota fit that category, but it's hard to think of many teams. The rest have had the same level of play (at best) or have seen a regression. QB play hurt the SEC the last few years---they went to the checkbook and fixed it. Currently, the SEC play has been better as a result.
Yes he is..He showed flashes of this last year, and then during the Bowl game against Clemson, he showed what he was going to become. Put cool and calm on top of great fundamentals (T Frank did a great job of showing us that part of his game) and you have a great QB. To me, losing him was the worst part of the coaching change, by far. And consider this: he was pummeled in his first 3-4 starts last year and didn't flinch a bit. Why did we let this guy walk? Huge mistake.Grunk is better than any quarterback in the BIG… he was really good in their win last night against Clemson. Cool and calm.

Might be the most delusional thing I've read here this weekGrunk is better than any quarterback in the BIG… he was really good in their win last night against Clemson. Cool and calm.
We didn't "let him walk" and you're greatly overselling how good he's beenYes he is..He showed flashes of this last year, and then during the Bowl game against Clemson, he showed what he was going to become. Well looks like we are bottom dwellers too.
This just shows how deep the B1G is. It's a grind week in and week out. No place to hide in this conference. Anybody can beat anybody.
Have you?Have you watched Penn State this season?

IMO today it's hard to define the term down year when discussing league success. I ask the question, due to NIL have these leagues started to even out in terms of being competitive. In a down year for the B1G only Maryland is worse than PSU
More drivel from the self-proclaimed great oracle. Grunk was 4th nationally in yards and 11th nationally and had 15 TD passes with only 2 picks before last night’s game where he led VaTech on a 4th quarter game winning drive by throwing a TD pass to another former Penn State player, Reynolds. Grunk said publicly that he is a loyal person and only left AFTER Becht committed (and he realized as we are now seeing that Campbell was going to play him irrespective of on field results). I look forward to your diatribe about how Grunk made a HUGE mistake transferring to VaTech because Franklin and O’Brien would “ruin” him.We didn't "let him walk" and you're greatly overselling how good he's been
More nonsense from the great oracle. Grunk was 4th nationally in passing yards and 11th nationally in completion percentage with 15 TD passes and 2 picks before last night’s game where he led the 4th quarter come back drive and threw the game winning TD to Reynolds. Please make sure to tell us in another post how Grunk made a HUGE mistake transferring to VaTech because Franklin and O’Brien will ruin him.We didn't "let him walk" and you're greatly overselling how good he's been
Means so much more when you repeat yourself. You are getting waaaaaaayy too twitchy.More nonsense from the great oracle. Analyze the numbers. Watch him play. Consider the opposition.More drivel from the self-proclaimed great oracle. There’s just no excuse for a “long rebuild” anymore. Look at all the first year coaches who inherited as bad or worse situations than Campbell and are doing much better. Why does Campbell get the benefit of the doubt? Aside from we have no choice but to hope it gets better..Obviously in the case of our beloved Nittany Lion football team there is a dearth of talent. Please stand by as the program goes through the growing pains of what could be a long rebuild.
Is Oregon a signature win? There’s just no excuse for a “long rebuild” anymore. Look at all the first year coaches who inherited as bad or worse situations than Campbell and are doing much better. -Chesney/UCLA. undefeated Top 10. Wanted to come to PSU but Kraft was obsessed with flipping a Mormon from BYU.
-Stein/Kentucky. Top 10.
-Morris/OK St. worst power 4 team last year. Signature win over Oregon this year.
-Sumrall/UF. Top 20
-Franklin/VT. 6-2. 1 loss on a missed chip shot game winning FG
-Golesh/Aub. Winning record. Signature win ver Georgia This year.
-Scalley/Utah and Golding/Ole MIss. Both promoted in house and having success (Terry Smith approach)
No new HC walked into as bad a situation as PS and turned them into an instant winner. There’s just no excuse for a “long rebuild” anymore. I think that was more because Hoover's arm was hanging on by a thread.Very true, and after watching Indiana and Michigan today, some of the teams at the top aren’t that good either. I don’t think Michigan is better than Penn State at all and they took Indiana to overtime.
Reynolds was pretty good as well.Grunk is better than any quarterback in the BIG… he was really good in their win last night against Clemson. Cool and calm.
I gave you 8 new coaches that have run circles around Minor League Matt this year. If you want to quibble, fine.
Yes, Oregon is a signature win for a team that was 1-11 last year. Oregon is having a down year, but has still beaten Boise St and USC.
I didn’t say Terry Smith was the right move for us. Just mentioned that it would’ve been the equivalent move to what Utah and Ole Miss did.
Is it deep or just very mid? I'm going very mid. This just shows how deep the B1G is. It's a grind week in and week out. No place to hide in this conference. Anybody can beat anybody.
So, which one of these 8 examples is Campbell outperforming? This is diverse list of programs and coaches. Surely he’s outperforming someone.Golding was the DC at Bama and Ole Miss
Morgan Scalley had been Utah's DC for a decade and was name the coach in waiting in 2024 to keep him at Utah
How are they the equivalent to Terry Smith?
"Minor League Matt" proves my point. And pretending Oregon is still a big win is laughable. They don't even think they're good.
