New perspective on UMassacre

We need to consider UMassacre as an even worse and embarrassing loss after tonight.

Many thought maybe UMass is pretty good for a MAC team.

Actually they are not.

They are getting crushed by mediocre UConn and will be 4-4.

They are 2-4 in FBS games and the only 2 wins are us and brand new awful FBS tr Sac St.

They sook will have a loss to UConn and to 3 MAC teams. They stink.

They are not good but our performance vs. them is an even bigger all time clunker than I thought.

Look, if we played them now we win by over 20 pts.

But they kicked out butts and they aren’t good at all.

nope, no one with a clue thought they were good or would be good this year. That was just Rutgers Scarlet glasses and stupidity

I said it in one of the other threads, if we win a few more games this year (I don’t think we will), it just goes to show how absolutely unprepared we were for games 1-2.

I agree that we would definitely beat them now but that doesn't matter much.

Sometimes good things come out of bad situations. Hopefully that game was the impetus to move this program into a winning trajectory.

Pop Watson played tonight on a bad ankle which kept him out of the last two games…and both were losses, but now he stinks all of the sudden.🤣
UMass has had some other significant injuries as well.
Solid MAC squad when 100% healthy. Their coach deserves an award turning the team around from last year as high-school football isn’t really a big thing in New England. I’m guessing lacrosse, ice hockey and basketball are much more popular high-school activities than football there.

We were outcoached...It had zero to do with talent level.

Their coach came into our game as his "Championship" and prepared for it- he knows Greg's game inside and out and used every bit of that knowledge.
Greg knows his game inside and out and looked at this game as a gimmie regardless and did not prepare for this game or who he was going against. With our overwhelming advantage in talent, Greg did not feel it mattered. He got stomped on as a HC in that game.

It’s not difficult to understand. Schiano believes he’s the smartest guy around. The ego is obvious when he speaks. Analogy : He thinks he can beat you at Scrabble with only 3 letters in his rack instead of 7 and his simplified philosophy and rigid decisions over the years prove it.

Yes, as Scrabble goes one can’t win with fewer letters, even less so without any I or Q.

Do you think Greg would call a fair catch during that scrabble game and just skip his turn?

UMass is much improved over last year. If we play them today and throw three picks and lose a fumble again don't think we win. Maybe if we beat NW I will think differently but that is a looong shot.

The team doctors let him play on a "bad ankle?' Yes, he was injured the last 2 games, but my guess is you're NOT allowing a QB to play on a "bad ankle" unless it's 90%+.

UMass stinks.

We were totally unprepared to open the season. It hasn’t really gotten any better either. Schiano’s teams usually fizzle as the season progresses and other teams get better, but Schiano has gotten more efficient in is ineptitude this year. I guess he should be congratulated.

Cheese disagrees - thinks Schiano plays 4D scrabble and Shelby doesn't get it

Just kidding - Gary can't read
