We need to bring him out of retirement. Perfect fit here and would bring another title.
Wright is done with coaching. He says so in the article - even if it was still the way it used to be.
We do not need a coach who is not 100% driven for success at the highest level. That doesn’t work at Kentucky.
It sounds like the transfer portal may’ve bothered him more than NIL. The whole mercenary mentality leading to totally different rosters every year was something he didn’t want to deal with.I dont blame any coach for leaving with NIL. Wright had nothing more to prove.
You’re not paying attention. He ain’t the “perfect fit” anywhere in the transfer portal/NIL era. He’s made it clear that he wants nothing to do with this version of college basketball. That’s why he quit.We need to bring him out of retirement. Perfect fit here and would bring another title.
He's a big culture guy. Hard to establish your culture when the whole roster flips every year. Don't blame him one bit for getting out. CBB/CFB jobs are harder than ever with zero days off.It sounds like the transfer portal may’ve bothered him more than NIL. The whole mercenary mentality leading to totally different rosters every year was something he didn’t want to deal with.
I can understand why. Even as a fan I don’t like a completely different roster from year to year. I can only imagine how difficult that is for a coach trying to manage a team and the tendencies of each individual player changing year to year.It sounds like the transfer portal may’ve bothered him more than NIL. The whole mercenary mentality leading to totally different rosters every year was something he didn’t want to deal with.
