And now they have us favored to beat Tennessee after they dominated BAMA last game and looked like a Top 5 team.

One flipping week and a complete 180.

Wouldn't bet on this game but it just shows you how disingenious and fickle they are in their reporting.

A coaching hot seat is the easiest thing to cure in the world.
Especially when it is not rooted in reality. We've got a shot in the game because we've played pretty good all year against solid competition. Vegas pays attention well beyond physical records.

Well, if we lose a close one after giving up another 2nd half double-digit lead, the reversal may be justified.
Our weaknesses are the secondary and receivers. Let's hope we can get some deeper production out of them - especially the secondary.

Iow ’underperforming’. Because no credit should ever be given to the opponent, because ‘poor coaching.’
If you lose approximately half of the games in which you had a double-digit 2nd half lead, does it matter what you call it? Whether we underperformed, played a superior team (yet again), or suffer from poor coaching, doesn't it all eventually fall on the coach?

Spurrier had that happen several times in one season, including against Tennessee. At home. Did those ‘fall on’ him? Can’t remember. Half full or half empty; guess it depends on your perception.

If it is a "full 360", that means we will continue on the course we are currently on.
Full 360 is correct. Follow the thread.

Whenever Gamecock Jacque likes something, that's when you want to do a 180 in your thinking.

Yes, sentiment-wise, the media went 180 degrees opposite where we were (from "we suck" to "we're awesome), but a loss to UT would bring about another 180 degree change, for a full 360.

I'm not sure I buy it, but that's the geometry of it, at least.

Of course it fell on him. Spurrier often said stuff like "thats on me and the coaches - we've got to do a better job of coaching" or something to that effect. Ultimately, the losses always falls on the coach and I think Spurrier would agree. Whether it's play-calling, other in-game decisions, the way they run practice, the assistants they hire, the players they recruit, etc., it's all on them. Whether it happens often enough to warrant making a coaching change is a whole 'nother debate altogether, but it's always on the coach.

I was referring to what social media fans were saying, not what spurrier said; of course he said it fell on him, all coaches say that. Reality is not so black and white; to believe it IS is a little Friday Night Lights-ish my friend. If youre going to wave that flag then when we win, you have to put the credit and the praise on the coach and his staff.

Don't we wave that flag? I do. Ultimately, the success or failure of the program is on the coach, and I think that's black and white. I think I'm looking at it a macro level while you're looking at the micro level, so maybe that's where the grey area lies. Of course you don't fire a coach for one or even a few losses and you don't give him a huge extension and raise over one or even a few wins. But, eventually, you have a large enough data set to form a pretty good assessment of the program and the coach.

On social media? Lol, no, positive flag waving like I cited is rare at best; fire fire fire is what I see. ‘Football is a game of inches’; it’s also a game of micros. Whatever. People try to view football as a business model, but it doesn’t work that way. Your last sentence is why I’m not in favor of a HC move right now.
