Football Klatt hints B1G-SEC scheduling agreement will be revealed after 24-team CFP

The first open date on the schedule is 2029.

I'd love to see a home and home with Arkansas, Miss State, Kentucky, or Vanderbilt. Oklahoma and Auburn would be cool even though RU would probably get beat badly in both matchups.

I had mentioned this in the 24 team expansion playoff thread. We're actually going to need P4 games (need 10 per year now) starting in 2028. Next year we have BC but the years after that I don't see any.

We either will have to cancel some G6 games or not have an FCS game in those years.

2027: Akron, LIU, BC
2028: Norfolk St, UConn, Kent St (need a P4 in exchange for 1 of these)
2029: UConn, Central Michigan, FCS or P4?
2030; Temple, Kent St, FCS or P4?

The only part of the deal to go to 24 is that all the P4 schools (and ND) had to have 10 P4 (or ND) games a year.

A B10/SEC agreement might happen but it wasn’t what Sankey asked from the B10. They might do it just because better matchups can bring enhanced tv value down the line but it’s not a mandatory thing, just the 10 P4 games a year are.

I half jokingly mentioned that a little while back when 10 P4 games was brought up to go to 24. I could see where teams that are perceived as weak get some demand for OOC. Probably won’t be from the just SEC either but many of the conference’s heavyweights or mid tiers might be looking for it from year to year.

Rutgers fans need to remember- Kyle Flood is the only Rutgers HC to go 2-0 against the SEC!!! There should be a plaque with this feat somewhere at SHI stadium!!!!
