Haha, sadly me. It's a losing battle. I try to provide the play by play for those who want to read it, but the camera for those who want to watch it is right in front of me, and I try to temper down the typing, but it didn't work today. Sorry about that.

Greg, were you capturing all of that live and transcribing on the fly? A master class. Should we add a court reporter's keyboard to your Christmas list?
Yes. This gig gives you a lot of keyboard practice ha. I do need to come up with a better solution for the typing noise in the video's audio, though. Haven't found a great one yet through football or wrestling -- mostly because the rooms aren't really big enough to stick a tripod anywhere but right in front of you -- but will keep looking for alternatives.
Wanted to circle back with two things from Shayne Van Ness. One thing I've seen come up on here before is why he does not compete in the freestyle circuit (or at least hasn't for awhile), so I asked him:
"Multiple reasons for different years," he said.
"Sometimes I just needed a break. Sometimes it was a health issue. Things happen."
I also asked him about what this last offseason was like for him:
"For me, the offseason is a time to work on the things that you need to personally," he said. "I think a lot of times in this season, you got to do stuff for everybody and kind of build as a team. But I think the summer is the really big time for individual growth, and so that's kind of what I've been working on is focusing on, what I need to be the best that I can be."

I wrote on page one my stance on the Davis thing. Do wish I had asked the Okie State question even though I think we know what his answer would have been. The good news is, there are more news conferences ahead.
Meyer Shapiro's accusation that Kasak was juicing had more validity than Davis' possible issue does at this point and Shapiro's accusation was about as valid as my charm and animal magnitism.

Just watched Cael’s media interview and Mitchell’s leather jacket, acting debut sitdown. So much to enjoy in both. Cael, the stoic, thoughtful voice of reality, admitting no recruit is guaranteed to start, only to compete for a chance to, and that’s why they come. Even the necessary evasiveness on lineup choices (heck, they’re still evolving) was tactful and comforting.
And Mitchell? What a gem. The philosopher-warrior, ready to either step back and mentor teammates or put on armor and lead a title charge. So comfortable in his own skin and soul, I believe he'd do either without reservation. Wrestling’s but one of many interests in this fascinating young man’s life. Selfishly, though, I say fascinating be damned. I want the coming Lion folkstyle season to be Mitchell’s current top priority!
