this just in, corvian athletics are sending a notice to fans to help elevate the crowd for the playoffs. with an INSANE crowd on last fridays game, the cardinal faithful will be looking like one of the best crowds in all of lower classification highschool football. might get scary for the rest of the west. we’ve got something up our sleeves for the rest of y’all to see come turkey season. GOBBLE GOBBLE !

Things will unravel for away teams with this one. “Little ole’ Johnston O” has quickly turned into an absolute difference maker. That stadium has skyrocketed in the standings and is now up there with Grimsley, Mountain Heritage, and even Cherokee! With that being said, GOBBLE GOBBLE and let the games begin!

😂 From the looks of Google maps, Corvian might want to pull in some portable bleachers!? Some of these schools you’re referring to have a heap more than just a couple dozen fans! We’re talking been around, and have a following type of traditional school. Your visitors side looks like something en par with my elementary school size.

A lot of these schools in the west have very passionate fan bases and I'm very confident will bring plenty of fans. And I'm very confident they have more fans than y'all. No denying y'all are good and will be a tough out come playoffs.

Most schools don't know this, but if a school doesn't have the required minimum seating standards then the visitor can request the game be moved. It would be worth checking on. The appeal must be placed by 11 am Monday before the game. I know that a few years ago Hayesville traveled to Christ the King and the field conditions were perfect the visitor seating was a single row of bleachers behind the visitors bench. No locker rooms for the teams, no permanent restrooms. The officials changed on the maintenance shed and the visiting team changed in the school cafeteria about 1/3 to 1/2 mile away. The game was moved up a day due to an approaching hurricane. Hayesville spent halftime sitting on the rain and then had no access to showers before the 4+ hour drive home I hope CTK. Has improved their facilities as money has become available.

Wow that’s harsh. Being familiar with CTK, they certainly have money so this is a surprise.

Not talking about the Illuminati in your mind….but the actual fan following and alumni base that will show up year after year. If you gonna play and entertain consistently, you gotta have the facility to do so.

wouldn’t say we’ve had any problems with that! fans show up and show out
Maybe it works in the upstart Charter conference with Langtree, or standing on the sidelines at Christ The King. Since the west is “on notice” as you say, perhaps the Corvian staff should be put “on notice”…. IF and when the Mitchell’s, Murphys or Starmounts start rolling in, they will expect a place to sit. They don’t travel with lawn chairs. Back 35+ years ago when Charlotte Catholic was 2A, they had to host deep playoff games at schools like then-4A Myers Park to handle the crowd. Maybe Mallard Creek next door would be benevolent , since they’re down, or Garinger ? I honestly don’t think you understand what you’re asking for….and that Corvian can handle the crowd. These schools are not green and have a well-heeled bunch of followers who know how to travel for football. So you better be really. These are not just “show up and show out” types of fans. 🫢

They've gone from recruiting players to recruiting fans. Just when you think you've seen it all.

Look, we get it. You have the ability to pull players from a pool of several million people. You can assemble talent by ways and means that the other 2a schools can't. We all recognize that you have a very talented team. Beat your chest all you want. We just don't respect you. We never will.

Say whatever you want. I'm not claiming you have to overhaul your roster every year with new recruits to have an advantage or to qualify as recruiting, but I'm not going to act like a school that pulls from a population larger than the population of entire conferences is something people need to be impressed with.

Like I said, brag, thump your chest, put out your "warnings". We just aren't impressed. Win 3 or 4 championships in a row over these schools playing in the second smallest division in the state. Not impressed. Win 10 in a row over some rural farming communities. Not impressed.

okay but as i’ve said, our whole sophomore junior and senior class is the exact same as they were last year. nobody was “pulled” so that statement is invalid for this year. i think snapping a team with a 25+ home game winning streak in the playoffs in your second year is impressive i think going to the state championship in your 3rd year as a program is impressive while beating all of the best mountain teams in their stadiums consecutively. went deep in the playoffs last year and will do the same again this year with a chance to actually host every game in the west. it’s not some crazy recruiting you think it is. it is develop and real coaching. we are building something special and will countinue to do so. appreciate your expectations, we’ll talk soon

Yeah, congrats on pulling enough talent a couple years ago that you didn't have room for even more talent. What a huge flex.

No matter what you ever do or what year you do it, we will not be impressed. Now, if you start playing in the classifications that the other Charlotte schools play in, then we will talk. A Charlotte school isn't building anything special by beating a bunch of small town rural schools. It is unfortunate for every school and community that has had their playoff runs ended by you. You don't belong, we don't respect you, and we aren't impressed.

Yes, I know you don't "hand pick" them, they just miraculously get in through the lottery the same way the charters that win all the time in basketball just happen to get 3 D1 basketball players in their completely random lottery every year. I think it is fantastic that school options exist, especially in places like Charlotte. I just think it is complete horse manure that they get shoved in 1a and 2a instead of the classifications that the other schools in their community play in. I know it isn't their fault, unless they are lobbying for it, I'm just not impressed when they beat teams from small towns and communities that don't have the same pool of players to pull from.

i got you but nobody has even came through the school besides freshman this year so that argument doesn’t work this season. does it not impress you that we have produced multiple power 5 athletes who have not played football before corvian? or that we snapped a team with a 40+ game win streak in the playoffs at their house? why have all these other charter schools not been to a state football game? because we have real coaches who can develop as good as anyone in the state. it is a genuine program my guy. we have 7 guys off the top of my head who start both ways on offense and defense. that’s not normal for charlotte football

oh, so we’ll just take it the success this year is like playing in a little league where you can dominate all those upstart charters that are not close to competitive, save CSOD, or have an experience of winning.
Good luck, hope you don’t poop in your own nest.

No. You are a Charlotte school with access to 3.5 million people.

A whole 7? Wow. Starmount has one guy that plays WR, DB, K, P, and PR. Shoot, now that he is a junior, he might be old enough to drive the bus and he probably plays the trumpet during timeouts. That is the reality of most schools this size.

I'm not doubting you have good coaches and fantastic facilities.

yep 7

i’m making the point that our coaching is the driving factor to our success which is not what y’all believe.

scheduled the number 1 team in 6a private, beat them. scheduled a charlotte power house in independence ( i know it’s a down year for them) beat them. our one loss was to a top 5 team in the state. beat csd who is now being viewed as a top 5 team in the west and we got ctk who is a top 10 team in the west. (both in our little league upstart charter conference)

No. What I believe is that if you are a Charter in Charlotte, and the average Charlotte school is playing 7A, then you should also have to play 7A. If you are in Winston or Greensboro and the average classification of your surrounding school system is 6A, then that is what you should also play. If you have 6A, 7A, 8A population pool, then nobody is impressed that you beat a team with a 2A population. In fact, its downright embarrassing.

classifications are based on the amount of students, not the surrounding schools populations. don’t understand why a small school can’t exist in a big city. don’t understand why another small school who doesn’t recruit can’t be in the same classification as other small schools who also do not recruit.

Got it, my friend, heard that before…we’re aware of that. We have eyes, and ears, and our radars are “on”. Your respect will have to be earned, considering you started the thread with such an arrogant, self-affirming header.

You don't understand how geography and boundaries work? Being artificially/selectively small in a big city isn't the same as being small due to geographical and demographical limitations. That is pretty simple logic. If you don't understand why charters and privates should be classified differently than traditional schools you are either really dumb or just being intentionally ridiculous.

you’re confusing school enrollment size with the population of the surrounding city. corvian is a public charter school with enrollment determined by available seats and a lottery, not athletic ability. by your logic, any small school located in a large city should compete at a higher classification simply because more people live nearby. classification is based on the school’s enrollment, not how many students could theoretically attend. you can certainly argue that the classification system should change but that’s not our problem, and it doesn’t mean corvian is recruiting or manipulating its enrollment, we follow the exact same public school rules as every public school. those are two completely different arguments. and resorting to insults doesn’t make your argument any stronger 😂😂😂 🦃
