I’m completely entertained by ODERTY1 dissecting Bolingbrook. It rarely happens on this board (and one specific poster, IMO).

From what I could find 1-0. 2003 7A playoffs Bolingbrook 31 - ESL - 11.
No they played in 02. ESL won by like 12 against a team that lost to Romeoville.

But its more telling that he doesnt understand why those 6A paths aren't frightening anyone above 6A. Not a knock on ESL but true nonetheless.

And bolingbrook wont play a team with a pulse until the quarter finals this year. I dont necessarily buy into this 8a is a gauntlet. Ever since they went to 8 classes 25 years ago each class has been watered down. On a year to year basis each class can be up or down. One year 7a might be the toughest the next could be 8 or 6 and so on.

I dont see the dissection 🤷🏿‍♂️

I can be completely honest about my teams and that allows me to be honest about others. I tell my people all the time that the SICA Gray era wasnt as good as they want to believe. Playing Romeoville, Stagg, Shepard, Reavis, Bradley, and Andrew doesn’t really say much. Especially when we struggled against Andrew. Non con games against Fenton, Thornwood... unimpressive stuff.

Now you try

I know I said I thought the Brook had an easier path, but that's mostly because they are really good. Lockport-Lyons are both teams that have high success recently and they (Bolingbrook) beat Oswego (quarterfinal matchup) already, who also has made a recent final.

That guy's mad because I saw that JCA beat them in week 9 last season. JCA goes on to 6A and loses in the 1st round while his team goes to 5A to play Springfield, Kankakee, Washington, and Oak Forest before losing to St Francis.

No reason to bring the Spartans into this!

Just because a team has had success recently doesnt make this years team good. Lockport is down they only beat 1 team with a winning record in lww. They only have a winning record because kankakee had to forfeit their victory against them. Just stating the fact that 8a is not some gauntlet like its made out to be.

Every team on that path would take that PC route last year and end up in the 5A championship.

Bolingbrooks path to the to the quarterfinals in 8a is easier than kankakees path in 5a. Pc and Morgan Park are better then any team bolingbrook is gonna play in the 1st 2 rounds.
It's possible I'd take PC over Lockport this year. But Lyons, Oswego, MC/LWE, Loyola it's not even comparable. You know you can talk to your admin and tell them you want to request up.

And that other team is Huntley.... Huntley.

Speaking of easy paths bolingbrook went 2 -1 vs teams with a winning record this year. Play 9 games and only faced 3 teams with a winning record.
Indeed. Schedule wasn't what I want it to be. Luckily we get to prove or disprove it in the playoffs. No hiding down in smaller classes. But 53 points by Iggy? Yikes lol

Bolingbrook has 3300 students. And your talking about hiding down in smaller classes. When was the last time bolingbrook scheduled a catholic league team during the regular season. I know in 2001 they scheduled pc and lost. Is that really the last time they were man enough to schedule a catholic league team.

3000. Yeah, hiding in smaller classes when you have access to and pick your team from countless thousands of kids. Then hide down in classes to play Washington.

"pay" and it doesnt matter. Still picking from countless thousands of kids, having the coach pay the tuition. Then hiding from competition.
Pc and jca have a combined 3 state titles over the last 18 years. You think they are hand picking rosters. Catholic schools in the south suburbs have taken a huge hit especially in the last ten years. So why you may think all these kids are going to jca and pc for free its just false.

Why are you bringing JCA into it? I havent heard that JCA's coach is paying the tuition of its players.

I understand, Lockport is down, however, programs like (Lockport, Naperville Central/North, Barrington, Fremd) are not typically what you want to see in the first round. Specifically, when other teams are playing Oswego East, Conant, OPRF and West Aurora.

Your just proving my point 7a and 8a are just like any other class. There might be 5 teams that can actually win.

Yes, but the next (5) teams are usually at a higher level than the lower classes with more talent and depth.
