First game I've watched since UMass. Really just wanted to see Duff. Heard the 1st TD call on the radio, great catch obviously, and I loved the 2nd one as well, the way he slowed down, boxed out the defender and then reached out to snatch the ball.

We have some other talented skill guys too. Hopefully we can bring some back.

Speaking of UMass - they lost their third in a row. Buffalos beat them 25-18. Their staring QB (William Watson III) has been out the last few games

Doesn’t look at all like a GS1.0 D known for unpredictable blitzes, DL stunts up the gazoo..etc. I don’t see it at all.

And playing a safety instead of a LB is a big deal. It is more 4-2-5 than 4-3-4

The chuck-m-scoo, spread offenses took care of the blitzing . That's why Schiano couldn't''t beat WV. Spreads counter and exposé aggressive defenses. I miss those of BE days of GS sending DBs on blitzes. I recall Joe Lefeged popping Maryland QB and Fridge complaining in media that GS was trying to hurt his player. Joe was good of the edge.

And I said a number of times that was a huge loss on Defense…
Just like Schiano not paying and losing Mo Toure, Jordan Walker, etc.
FWIW the DC does have control who’s on the field and who he has out there (#41, #35, ) can’t’ “run” his Defense or Schiano’s.
Did you? No you said and I quote.

No loss. We can do better

You have a way of changing your story. And yes I pointed out Walker and Mascoe would be losses real time. Knight shift and I pointed it out again when Walker was named a captain and Mascoe was called NFL talent at Texas. When people like yourself were saying they were not losses and passed over on the depth chart. What you’re saying is a bigger indicator of Schiano than Johanson. Again that wasn’t the debate regarding who’s on the field. Stick to the point.

Then why is Johansson playing #41 ? He is not a P4 player and is bad. Everyone of these LB’s should be playing before him: Walker,Wright, McClary, Morris, Archie.
FWIW, strange you are keeping track of my posts from a year ago. Kinda creepy.

No because someone resurected the thread and you reversed course. And I quote.

Yep, I’m gonna be that guy and quote myself (since someone else resurrected this thread). Good talent leaves us. It’s time to move on to the next chapter of Rutgers football.
Losing Bo and Jordan Walker to GT didn’t help us.

Which one is it? A loss or

Pay attention many people have said most if not every player you have mentioned are dinged up or out.

but again your changing the debate.

I’m on the record saying that those guys shouldn’t be on the field. And that Walker was an upgrade as soon as he saw the field. I’m also on record saying the hiring of Johanson was a harbinger of things to come. The hiring process was a sham and it would lead to Greg’s demise.

Schiano not paying Mo Toure etc. Did Schiano have the money TO pay them?

Last season Schiano paid $550k for a real bad Safety from UNLV. That same season we lost Mo to Miami. I’m sure the “cost” to keep Mo wasn’t much higher. This his second year at Miami he is getting $800k.
Schiano is a complete failure in the Portal.
Agree with your above post regarding managing the portal. Difficult to attract talent on that side of the ball when you botch the dc hiring process 2 years in a row. Basically sitting out 3 recruiting cycles.
The story with mo was less about money and more about a plan. Rutgers had no plan to get Mo back on the field. Mo asked for a timeline and RU didn’t match the expectations. Miami had a plan and delivered on it.
One thing was I was tough on Mo early on last season at Miami (watch a lot of games have family attended Miami). He was bad the first 4-5 games. Regularly out of position. As the season played on he became one of their stronger defenders.

Way to go, Rutgers. That was an impressive third quarter to turn that thing around and seal the deal...

Locksley retained for now. DC is gone:

I, and the small subset of Maryland fans I am in contact with, have no clue what is going on.

The athletic department even went so far as having a statement issued by Coach Locksley explaining the dismissal of the defensive coordinator, with a coachspeak quote and everything.

I still believe there is zero chance that there isn't a new coach next year, but I'm completely lost on the process now. They're alienating more fans every day that they don't let the current coach go, so what are they waiting for?

For me, I will be a field hockey and soccer fan until November. Oh, and a Washington Township High School football fan (their recent return to prominence shows what many posters here believe -- coaching matters)...

I hate all the celebrations of trivial things, as you seem to, but at least he was also making a lot of good football plays. I don't even know who he is, ha ha, I should not have commented...
Luckily I had good coaches and role models as a kid that instilled time and place. Agreed don’t celebrate trivial or even big things under circumstances. Losing giving up first down and massive penalty on same play. Probably not a time to peacock.
