One veteran SEC agent said the interest is not surprising.

“When a coach flips a roster, modernizes an offense, and wins immediately in this league at a place like Kentucky, people notice,” the agent said. “These schools aren’t waiting until December anymore. They’re laying groundwork now.”

Sources inside UK’s athletic department say they are aware of the “external noise” and have already begun internal discussions about potential contract enhancements, facility upgrades, and NIL investment increases.

For now, the conversations remain informal, quiet, and off the record, but the fact they’re happening at all underscores how dramatically Kentucky’s football profile has changed.

I don’t care!!!

1st. We have every advantage to keep a coach like this.
A. Grew up a Kentucky fan
B. Family connection to program
C. Indiana has shown the way
D. The fans have responded

2nd. If he leaves after a few yrs and has turned us into a national power, what more could you ask? If you were hiring a UK coach last yr and your crystal ball told you that after 10yrs on the job he would have you ranked in the top 10; top recruits interested in you as well as most of the football watching nation, would you take him? So what if Will is ahead of schedule.

Bottom line. I’ve spent decades suffering during football season and I plan on enjoy this moment and not worrying about it.

I think we have him this year and next. Hope I am wrong, but I think either a college football blue blood or NFL team swoop in after that
At this point I'd be pretty happy with that. Until Kentucky can match the NIL funding of other top schools we have no chance of keeping a coach like Stein and that's if an NFL program doesn't hire him.

That was true just a few short years ago it’s not anymore. Stoops was a great steward of the program and he maximized our capabilities as a program during the previous era. He raised money, raised our recruiting profile and built facilities. Two ten win seasons during that time to me is unbelievable. He overachieved.

the next chapter will be a good one.

1 ten win season (one was vacated). Also, Stoops got an extra stinky non conference game and the SEC East was extremely down. While Stoops had some great moments, he gets way too much credit and was way overpaid.

I can’t stand calling that a ten win season because we played half a team in a meaningless bowl.

it’s a 9 win regular season and a bowl win

10 win seasons mean playoffs now. 9-3 does not-though it probably will beginning next year.

Still trying to whitewash that failure, aren't ya. That argument doesn't hold water, when you look at how many coaches built winners in year 1 or 2. But hey thanks for outing yourself as one of those Stoops defenders.

Stoops was like watching paint dry or grass grow . He was horrible with his oc coordinators pathetic developing qbs . Insane with clock management he played not to lose WILL "WE ARE THE F-ING STORM" STEIN plays to win go cats go stein .that Texas coach has to be insane putting him and muschamp together and the results are starting show too. I remember he got mad at Liam Cohen for not running the ball and airing it out because he thought it put to much strain on the defense 🙄 thank God that mindset has left the building

I think the NFL comes calling down the road. Personally I see Stein leaving for the NFL versus jumping to another school. I think Stein & Kiffin are built differently. I think we get 2 more years before decision time. Hopefully the new AD ponies up after this season.

give him 20mil with a 200mil buyout
The absolute minimum you would have to give him at $20M is ten years because the value of the agreement must match the buyout, and the buyout would drop annually. So you want to commit $200M to Stein 7 games in? LOL. How many people cursed the contract Barnhart gave Cal after Cal did a Hell of a lot more than win 6 games. Calm down lol
