Opening round games are on October 24?

I noticed that all of the opening round games are on October 24, which is a Saturday. This will likely lead to all of the following rounds to be on a Saturday as well as coaches desire an extra day of preparation. This is ruining the concept of Friday night lights. Maybe if the IHSA installed a rule that the first round game time and day will be solely determined by the team which has the bye. @Edgytim

not sure what you're looking at but see pinned thread at the top with game times. There's a number of Friday games posted already.

Only thing I saw was that all games will be Saturdays......."unless".......both teams agree to Friday. And to be honest,after the 1st round,most games end up on Saturdays.

Yeah, I understand some people don't like it, however many teams in the opening round would have still been in with the older setup, I don't remember anyone calling the 1st round prior to now the participation trophy round... If they did I didn't notice.

Regardless, let's hope someone makes a run to the semi's from this round or the title... it'd be neat to see for sure.

It's all for not anyways, at this rate we won't have but 100 to 120 11-man schools playing by 2040. It's also amateur high school football... just let 'em all in like basketball and call it good for a while. I'm tired of things changing every 2-4 years because the public schools can never be happy. Separate the privates, they'll still ***** every single year about it.
