He's not going to bench Becht because he knows every agent will question if he'd bench their player if the team struggles. To move on from Becht, MC has to make the move during a game (today would have been the time after the second pick) and whatever QB he goes to would have to do extremely well
You have out did the stupidity today Lando. Let’s kiss the season away and not work on preparing for the future by continuing to play “your boy” while the season goes in the crapper because some agent(s) might question whether Campbell might bench his player if he goes there and performs poorly. Unbelievable. PS the team struggled yesterday because Becht was a turnover machine in case you didn’t watch.

Questions I didn't hear:
1 - Are you concerned that opposing teams convert so many 3rd & long situations?
2 - Are you concerned that the defense can't stop anyone in the 2nd half?
3 - Are there any plans to target players with more athleticism to play in the front 7? (Rojas is the exception)
Did you watch the game? I mean seriously. The defense wasn’t the problem yesterday. Please stop with the nonsense.

I’m sure HCMC made a promise and commitment to RB and his parents that he will not be benched if he followed him to Happy Valley. It’s likely that simple.
So much for all that preseason talk about Campbell playing the best defensive players huh?

You're being ridiculous and emotional
What is left to earn this season? Let's start with that. When we lost our third game there were no meaningful games left. playing for pride.
Every decision Campbell makes the rest of this year if about the future. He's playing who he considers to be "the best QB" not "his boy".
You don't want to accept the consequences of benching a guy in the NIL era--it's why it took Michigan so long to bench Underwood. The plan is obviously not Manske for 2027--he's going to stay with the vet so guys considering coming here aren't going to be scared off by knowing if we're eliminated from the playoff he'll go to the backup to prepare for the future.
You have adapt to this era no matter how much you hate it.
Still don't know what you think we're trying to save this season. 3-9 or 8-4 is the same.

I’m worried what this decision to continue with Rocco will do to the rest of the team. There are guys just balling out, like Rojas, Zayas, Cousins, Sowell…. I’m sure they’re great teammates, but they’re humans (stealing this annoying term from Campbell himself.) There’s only so much they can take until doubt and discord start creeping in to them and the rest of the team. This team was good enough to win every game, but maybe the Northwestern game. They see what’s happening at the QB position. They saw their leader avoid hits and slide short of the first down marker yesterday while Sowell get banged up and still comes back and and contributes. They saw their QB leader inexplicably run out of bounds again instead of throwing it away. It’s ridiculous and it’s worse than Allar and Hack, who is probably breathing sigh of relief right now that he’s off the hook for historically bad qb work.

I see we're back to pretending Allar wasn't great--cool

Every year I believe the pundits that our OL will be a strength and on paper this one seemed like the OL and DL would be improvements over the last couple of years.

Why is this OL so bad. The Center seems athletic, but probably too small for Big 10, LG from ISU seems to be struggling. The tackles look like Big 10 tackles but seem softer than you would expect. I liked the approach of the OL coach on getting more aggressive. Who would you replace to improve the Line? Is there any depth? There was talk about changing the OL in yesterdays game....but nothing changed.
Could see some OL shuffling during the bye week.

211 yards rushing in the 2nd half. Yes, I watched. Michigan pinned at the 6, 41 yard run. 3 & 9, 12 yard touchdown run. Rush defense is a major problem
Ultimately the stat that matters is 21 points after 3 turnovers . Pretty darn great D all the weaknesses considered.

This team’s growth has been visibly observable the last two weeks. I agree with coach Campbell. Also, Rocco just needs to continue to grow. If Rocco can continue to grow, he’ll be able to finish his 10 year college career with a .500 season! I realize that’s a big IF, but watching this team continue to grow has been truly enjoyable, and I’m confident they’ll continue to make us all proud as they grow. Grow grow grow. Thank you coach Campbell!
The game Saturday afternoon was contested between two absolutely God-awful football teams. (Maybe could have modified that to read "Two very bad football teams, who both played Gid-awful football for 3 hours") Both coaching staffs were equally miserable, to be honest
Michigan (and the Michigan staff) completely spit the bit on Saturday. So did PSU.
One team had to win. It was Michigan.

It is what it is.

Soon or later they (PSU) WILL win a few games against the five remaining God-awful football teams on their schedule.

It is just the way it goes

Cousins is a legit Big Ten OG.

The rest range from "inconsistently between mediocre to bad", to "completely outmatched at this level".

It is what it is.

I think it's a really good secondary, especially the corners. I think Rojas is great. I'm more concerned about the front 4. The defense has had great moments, but unfortunately it's rarely been sustained. 2nd half vs. Wisconsin, the entire Northwestern game, the complete lack of pressure against USC and major breakdowns on 3rd and long and the insistence to stick with a 6-man box. Is it scheme or is it the guys playing the position? I don't know. I think it's worth questioning. I'm not minimizing the turnovers or the lack of consistency of the offense, but I fear there are long-term systemic problems with continuing to build the defensive front in this manner. Even with the turnovers, a little defensive flow on 3rd and 9 forces a field goal. 18-17 Penn State with 1:40+ left.

Pretty much the same for the offense. The ST haven't shone, but they haven't fallen flat on their face either, from what I recall.

That's really the problem for this team. If the offense could gel and sustain drives, and the defense could get a few 3 and outs, this team wouldn't be half bad. I really liked the opening drive at Michigan, taking well over half the first quarter. Problem was, they had to settle for a FG (made me want to grind my teeth in disgust - talk about blowing a great opportunity). The turnovers in the 2nd half were the nail in the coffin - yet PSU fought back.
