I vacillate between group posts like yours and serial posting. But that Dylan Raiola sheet needs its own post. So tired of the Nebraska is back narrative. I hope Bo Pelini was watching last night and laughing his @SS off

I think Nebraska is better than they have been they still can’t get over the hump.

They’re like one of the 7-8 teams who have never finished the season ranked in the CFP since it started in 2014. They’re the surprising name. I think they still can finished ranked this year but we’ll see.

As to the posts, just like the thread I just dump things together often because it’s just simple and easy and anyone can scroll through and read whatever they like.

Rutgers is tied with Michigan for fifth in the B1G standings, ahead of Penn State. Just as was predicted in the preseason!

I don't know about PSU but Michigan may have found something potentially. Benching the 3M dollar man (Underwood) for Lloyd Carr's grandson Tommy might be helpful to their offense but he still is a freshman IIRC.

If they run the ball more north south and less east west they might get better on offense. That's the way Harbaugh and Moore built it and I'm not sure Whittingham and Beck had enough time to change personnel taking over so late. Otherwise it might be too much square peg round hole.

Lots of mock drafts have Arch Manning dropping out of the #1 pick.
I wasn't even sure he'd go in the first round but I don't follow NFL so much now to see how CFB players are drafted these days.

I've been hearing on pods is it a Manning thing or Sarkisian thing...chicken or egg. Like what would Manning look like with Cignetti and Shanahan. Look how Mendoza blossomed and how Hoover went from a TO machine to a qb while not perfect has 18 TDs and 0 INTs thus far.

Eck whipping the belt. Good.

Don't normally do this, but what heck happened to Nicole Auerbach? She does not look like same person she did years ago? She looked fine then. Good writer too.

Joey Galloway gave a good explanation on CFF on the mistakes Nick Marsh made that made him put his feet out of bounds by a hair on that play. It was a slant and go which was a good call because IU had been running slants all day. Marsh didn't really run it in as sharp an angle further into the numbers which would have put him further inbounds with more margin as he ran up the field. He kind of did a quick juke and go which gave him less margin upfield. The other thing he said was he should catch it over the left shoulder instead of the right shoulder. Over the left shoulder it's harder for defenders to defend and being over the left puts your feet further in field a little with some extra margin.

Eck getting it done despite using his back up QB. Even if Fickell doesn't get fired, you just know the RU Administration isn't even going to give him a call.
Big game against NDSU (6-1) next week who is now bowl eligible in season 1 on the FBS level. I’ll be keeping an eye on that to see how they do.

You can never know for sure but Eck is my favorite out of the G6. As a former OL, he builds from the lines out and believes in toughness, physicality and such but not so much that they’re not creative at times.

This is the point I make. The drama of sports is compelling regardless of 12 or 24.

I wasn’t thinking of the CFP yesterday but instead just enjoying some wild CFB games.

With more parity and just about anyone being able to beat each other these days and differentiation being difficult more access is a good thing.

Stories like Vandy, GT, etc last year would have been great with entry into the CFP. This year the possibility of UCLA, UK, NW, WF, Houston, Ok St etc.. would be even more fun too to see if they can get in and make some noise. Whomever next year’s underdogs stories are, we’ll be able to see them living it out to as far as they can take it.

Mentioned yet ??
UCLA 5-0 #12
Half stadium tarped off
Visitor side 40% full with 90% Wisconsin fans
Official attendance for that game 36,040. Whenever I hear Rutgers fans on here bring up attendance, I'll bring up this one. #12 UCLA 5-0 vs 4-1 Wisconsin at night and you draw that pittance.

I thought part of the issue was that the Rose Bowl is a pain to get to for a bunch of people/fans that’s why they’re trying to get out of their agreement with it and move to SoFi which would be easier. I think that agreement is until the 2040s so not sure how realistic it is that they’ll be able to get out of it.

he's definitely getting the axe so we'll be competing with them for a HC at the very least
Hypothetically, what is the bare minimum Greg can do to save his own job?
Does 5 total wins do it, or 6?

Obviously, Rutgers is not getting 7 or 8 wins. Just assuming they pull 3 or 4 rabbits out of hat- does that save his job?

I would say 4 if Keli can't find the funding to buy Greg out and pay for someone considered a quality candidate and allow him to spend what it takes to build a good staff .

A good staff? He just did that? Offense is fine. Gonna fire the DC after 1 year?

How about a good roster on D?

Keli can't run the program or survive him staying

So no in either case?

Maryland takes action--good news-Locksley is safe for now!!!

he won't be coaching there next year so all these type of things do is keep us in the front of the pack for quality p4 HC gig. We should have already canned Greg and the CFB world knows that Rutgers is open for business. at the very least, losing the rest of the year is minimized with an interim as the attention is on the hire vs the dope in charge now

edit-it's another reason I've my reservations about Keli and won't jump on the bandwagon like many do for people associated with Rutgers without a full picture. This firing is easier than saying hello
