Disagree. Both have proven they can play. Hank lead us on a game winning drive at the Big House which in my recollection has never happened in my lifetime. Heck looked like a guy that not only belongs but the offense just seemed to move at a faster pace with him in there. It's a good option to know that both guys can play if needed. I have no idea how this is going to play out but I think both QB's will be needed as the season goes on.

So true. We have had the opposite happen too. Stanzi, for example. It’s a black art trying to predict which way it breaks. Hoping we can navigate this with the best possible outcome. We do not have easy games on the horizon, but we have games we can win. Hoping Heck can keep it going. We know what we have with Brown and it’s ok. Just see a higher ceiling with Heck.

based on what i saw today iowa has 2 quarterbacks better than the two guys that osu has. flabbergasting. too bad we lost to them.

I scoffed at having 2 QBs that are good. After seeing backups today, I think I would take Brown over any of them but Carr.
If Heck feels like he should be a starter and continues to lose out to Hank, I bet he looks elsewhere....
hate to say it, but I would rather lose Hank than Heck
All these top teams have 1 star qb, but what is the backup qb abilities.

Many of these guys like colandrea( Nebraska) and Joseph of Wisconsin run a lot...who are their backups? Hopefully,hawks face those backups by Halloween and November.

It appears Oregon and Washington are better with their backups. UCLA still got it done vs Wisconsin
Yep, I was thinking of this thread title too most of the game. Was thinking/hoping it was accurate but alas ... not so much.
Not sure what happened to the Iowa starting QB at Washington, where the offense put up 41 points.
Fools gold? Made some nice passes but the TDs were ridiculously wide open. Maybe choked a lil today?

I would give Bessinger some major reps in practice. If there IS a QB future then it is him and not the other 2. I am not saying throw him to the wolves but send the message to all of the QBs HE is our guy next year. If Hank and/or Heck leave then fine. So be it. Need to start preparing for next season now and make sure Bessinger does not leave.
So, I think there is zero chance of this happening. Teams don't play for next year. They play for this year. Bessinger may be a high quality recruit with a bright future, but simply throwing him in there because the offense isn't getting it done if he's not ready is a recipe for disaster. If he is as good or better than the 2 average Joes we have today, then sure, but we know that's probably not the case.
Someone pointed out that Iowa hung 55 on OSU in 2017, then turned around and had under 100 yards offense the next game against Wisconsin. So it wouldn't be the first time we've seen something like that.
