I’ve been a fan for about 42 years, so I’m good at handling disappointment. What is unbearable is the contrast between OM and us. A gap like this, for this many years is new to my experience.
That's my other thing… I could give two shlts what Ole Miss is doing. It makes no difference to me. It has no impact on us. I hope they lose every game they play, but it doesn't bother me if they don't. Their fans can beat their chest and talk trash… It doesn't bother me because I'm morally and ethically superior to them. I'd like to remind you that as an MSU fan, you are too.

Im jealous of those of yall who can flush this performance and enjoy the rest of the college football today. The blowout loss plus the discussion of Kamario being out multiple weeks has ruined my day.
Stuff like that doesn’t bother me anymore. Hasn’t for a long time. I still love State and going to games and watching etc but I don’t let it bother me one way or another anymore and I feel alot better. More things to life than getting mad at a game on tv I have zero control over.

I envy you then. Their cockiness makes me nauseous.

Be thankful that, comparatively speaking, the rest of your life is so good that this is the thing that has you down.

Hedging is an important &tate survival skill. I think this was discussed during the summer, but you have to multi-task and do something productive during the dismantling to justify the time (Especially with an 11am KO). I replaced all of the output shaft seals in a tramsmission today.

It does have an impact on us.

I guess I was a sports fan, before going to MSU. The Dogs have had a lot of lean years during that time,
And so I adopted the SEC for those off years,,,,and there were plenty of them .

Yep, I get mad about the Dogs, but....life goes on.
Hard to be a State Fan.

While I love msu and want them to win and do well, if/when they don't it doesn't bother me nearly like it used to.
and it bothers me less and less each year too. The stupid bone headed moves that the school or athletic department make regularly bother me more though now, but the losses, I guess I've been through so many they just roll off my back now

I had to spend several months in boston about 10 years ago. It happened to be during football season. No one there gave a flip about what was happening in the SEC. I kind of enjoyed it.

Question, are you an idiot? If you have an IQ of 50, you saw this coming. Even with KT and Fluff and us playing a perfect game, we'd be lucky to be within a TD late in the 4th. I thought we'd get beat worse.

That might be a bit harsh, but I was not happy with how we failed to compete.
We have got to be tougher than we showed today.

Yes it has an impact on the insecure wing of our fan base but that is it.
If you don’t think that our biggest rival running rings around us for almost 10 years does not negatively affect our school’s image and recruiting ability, including normal students, I think you’d be wrong. I’m not saying it affects people personally.

I’ve been up and down with MSU for 50 years now. Same for the enemy up the road. I grew up in the immediate post Vaught years. Since Vaught the worm always turns. The combination of Cohen and going down the Leach dead end wormhole has set us back a few years, but the worm will turn. Some of you take this sports crap entirely too seriously. We are still THE university of the people of Mississippi, and the difference there between us and the folks up the road is becoming more pronounced every year. As for sports….I actually had a decent day today. I have other sports interests besides MSU, a couple of them did well today!

Yeah. Same here. I could accept all this and say... that's just the way it is. But teams like Indiana and OM having success.... it is difficult to accept our current state.

But I will say when all the hype of Taylor, Heisman, playoffs .... became conversations, a voice was telling me it would all come crumbling down. Always has, 2014 for example.

I'm calling BS on these snowflake answers. Sure, as State fans you become jaded as the losses pile up in football, but don't tell me in your core that it doesn't hurt a little in your gut when the team isn't competitive and it's always wash, rinse and repeat no matter who is wearing the maroon & white. This board has over a quarter of a million post and north of 1-2 million views. That doesn't sound like a bunch of guys that don't give a flip. Although some posters deny it, maybe our salvation lies in that four word little phrase "is it baseball yet?"

Yeah I have seen tons of blowouts. I thought this season was gonna be very nice until the Mizzou game. These injuries aren't a new surprise. That's why I was b*tching about playing Kamario against Bama. He was obviously injured. Imo it was a huge mistake playing him. The injury is worse now. Billy will get better with time but of course we are gonna lose a few games before he gets it together. This team isn't good enough to have this many key injuries. Say goodbye to any hopes of 9 wins. But what more would a State fans expect?

Back in the early 60s, and then when the original Archie came along, OM was pretty good. We somewhat jokingly refer to their Better Homes and Gardens national championship, but regardless, they were pretty good then and we were not. Virtually the entire state was OM fans.

After I got out of school in 1970, I didn't follow MSU or any other football (possibly because we were terrible, I was starting a family and career, and I just didn't have the time) until my son started school there in 1995. Jackie was there then and we had pretty decent teams since then until Mullen left. Then, other than a good year or two under Leech, we've sucked. OM was the same as us for years until Kiffin came on board, then the huge split occurred and we have what we are now with a coaching carousel.

Under the current pay-for-pay absurdity we now have, we'll likely never rise above mediocrity.

Hey. The season is barely half over and we’ve already met my win total expectations. I didn’t even watch half the game yesterday. I went outside in the fantastic weather and did a few things. Later I even turned the radio on and listened to the second half of Auburn’s win over Georgia. I’d forgotten how nice it is to listen to a college football game on the radio.
