Iowa’s win against Washington looms larger with this Washington win at Purdue - wow…. What a turnaround from the Huskies. I would imagine every Washington win helps the big Hawkeye win at Husky Stadium
Amazing Wash won with all those turnovers. A lot of inconsistent teams and the real good Iowa teams are pretty consistent bringing the tough, low scoring defense and very good special teams. Last year we had a good offense but happened to play some tough, rated teams.

This year the offense is better overall except in the QB run area. Now if we see the run game be consistently good to very good then this could be a special year.

a couple conclusions gained from my percipient knowledge of the above:

1) Purdue's defense is not too impressive. if we cannot move the ball & score against them,t then we just are not so great,

2) Ryane Brown,Purdue QB, is the real deal. hope PP has a way of amelioriating it.

3) Washington looked pretty sloppy overall, but moved the ball very well.

4) why couldn't we have gotten those interceptions like Purdue did? he picked us apart.

5) I amtrying to use this game and these two opponents to gauge our next foe, Minnesota. I can only conclude Minnesota is very inconsistent (they have up almost 200 yards to the Purdue back, but he barely got 20 against Washington) but probably not too good of a team overall based on the last two weeks.

10-2 depends on when we lose, who we lose to, by how much and how all the other conferences shake out. LOTS of football to be played. SEC schedules are a meat grinder the balance of the season. Right now LSU, Auburn, Oklahoma and Florida are all just one loss away from potentially being eliminated already. Kentucky, Missouri, Miss St, Tennessee and Ol Miss all with 1 loss and a tough back half of the season. I point out the SEC specifically as that will be the potential blockade for the Hawks if we lose one more. LOTS of FB to be played. But we all know winning out puts us in and that starts with the Gophers next week. THRASH them!

I bet there’s at least one 9-3 SEC team the media (ESPN) stumps hard for.

It's either win out and make playoffs or lose any games and we are out.
Nothing else matters
.10-2 Iowa is out,period.
Screw the committee and signature wins...does not matter...win or we are out.
If Iowa wins the rest of their games they are in. If they go 10-2 it will become a debate and much will depend on how Iowa looks in the rest of the games, who they lost to and how, and the resumes of other teams under consideration. I think it is fair to say that Iowa might not have any signature wins to hang their hat on, so that makes the 10-2 argument a little tougher.

Big next two weeks for Wisconsin. Their schedule could allow them to have a 9-3 or 10-2 record with a loss to Iowa.

Big next 3 weeks for sure. This is easily the toughest stretch they have. The schedule gets much easier for them after these games.
