Only one way to sum up the Cramer at Lincolnton game, and that is we (Lincolnton) just got beat in every way by a better team...Our guys were not able to stop SC's running game, and they rarely passed, but didn't need to. It was like playing so many South Point teams.
Our defense couldn't get penetration into the backfield and got pushed around all night.
On offense, Lincolnton couldn't do anything in the first half. In the second half we showed a little fire, but each time we scored they would answer it. We are really going to have to improve on defense. A good showing one week and not showing up the next will mean an early exit for the wolves in the playoffs.
Congratulations to all the Cramer posters. Hope everything else in addition to the score was good for you. Got a really good team with size, speed and execution. They rarely make mistakes and they play hard. All the best to you in the playoffs.

Thank you for the compliments. Had a wonderful experience. Everyone from Lincolnton was pure class. Talked a good bit to the guys in guest concessions and they were all great guys. First time seeing #3 in person and he definitely lives up to the billing. Good luck the rest of the season, and you guys will be a very tough out in the playoffs.
Appreciate it. I love the old school stadium at Lincolnton. Now, I don't like the walk to the parking, but once inside it is great. Lincolnton even had a party tent set up for the visting team to use at half. Top notch. Good luck the rest of the way.
Parking isnt one of our best offerings, lol. Lotta home fans have to hike from the high school. If our forefathers had used a little more foresight in placing graves around the battlefield, we may have a more cohesive layout, lol.
Congrats to the Cramer folks on the win. You have the type of team that is a really bad matchup for us. Huge up front, strong running backs, and don’t need to throw the ball much. Our guys played with good effort and seemed to be in the right position, just couldn’t match the size and strength. Cramer doesn’t make hardly any mistakes either.
Only 3A competition for the Wolves from here on. Should be healthy and ready for WL and then the playoffs. Looking forward to it. Also ready to see all the familiar 4A teams compete in the playoffs.

Somebody is gonna be really unhappy having to see Cramer coming to their place in the 2nd round of the playoffs, I just hope it's not us

On another note, Burns ran away from Cherryville from about the middle of the 2nd quarter on, basically exactly like I thought the game would go. But I will say this, Cherryville is a pretty good team. Lots of speed and athletes. They are going to be dangerous in the 2A bracket.... Wouldn't surprise me at all to see them in the 3rd round maybe 4th... They'll go on the road and pull an upset or two

Cherryville deserves more from their community this year. That crowd is as nothing like it was supposed to be. I kept getting told they are coming full force. Those stands were 1/3 full and Burns easily had more. It was standing room only on the visitor side. Cherryville has a good 2A team. It went damn near exactly like I thought. The refs did too much to impose their will on this game. It was already an obvious mismatch but they made it too obvious that they were trying to keep it close. We had the same White Hat from Lincolnton. Hollywood is what they call him.
Cherryville has a ton of speed but zero depth. I hope they do as good as I think they can in the playoffs but their community has to get behind them more.
Just looking at updated RPI, Burns is still at the 4 seed and Cramer at the 13 seed. Which would for now bring Cramer to Burns in round 2. But Cramer should jump up 2 spots to the 11 seed after next week and I think most likely will get the 10 seed at the end. Burns will end up with the 4 or 5 seed and probably will get East Burke or RS in the 2nd round.
Hats off to Stuart Cramer. They stayed in that heavy set package. SC is massive upfront. It’s a horrible match up for us.

No offense to Lincolnton — great, well-played game, and credit where credit is due. We all know Lincolnton was missing players last year. This isn’t directed at their crowd, either — I’ve never heard them make excuses. It’s for the armchair historians putting asterisks beside last year’s game. You know who you are. Must be tough when reality refuses to cooperate with the narrative.
