That and we told ourselves “oh, we lost our top 6 rotations players. This isn’t going to be the norm”. And then it became the norm. Cal thooght he could put a dominant team on the court every year with recruiting alone. He was wrong and then tried to jedi mind trick us into believing so many of those teams were better than they were. Worked on an alarming number of the fanbase. And still does.

The other side of that is you knew with Cal when we had bad teams we were one reload away from competition again for titles

1 title four final fours and three elite eights. We’ve had more good seasons than not id say.

With pope at least right now there is no reload.

It had been nearly a decade since his method resulted in a final four or even a 1 seed. We weren’t one reload away anymore. He had good teams in that time. But the only one that was a real threat nationally was 2017. I don’t wanna rehash this tho. Again, y’all fell for mind tricks. And still believe them. Cal will never win another natty. I get it’s an exhibition. But you can’t honestly watch these dudes move and play and be encouraged, right. They’re going to need to shoot 50% from 3 to beat any team with a pulse.

Maybe the most concerning thing to me, if these teams wore masks and generic uniforms you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between and SEC team and whatever the hell conference ULR plays in.
