Just an FYI to keep an eye out. This comes from Hans Poppe, the attorney representing some other players involved in the same case.
That's the expectation, given that Judge Edwards was the same one who originally ruled them eligible.Hopefully they will give them the 5th year.
Well, Sankey and the SEC is kind of an important hurdle that wasn't gonna be overcome w/r/t Mitchell. It was such a dick move, too.So if this judge rules him eligible doesn’t that mean Mitchell would have been okay to stay too as long as told sankley to go FO?
regardless we need afari. Badly
No,, still falls under the no transfer rule to other sec teams..So if this judge rules him eligible doesn’t that mean Mitchell would have been okay to stay too as long as told sankley to go FO?

This has been explained like 73 times, I'm not sure how anyone could possibly still be confused about the facts (being confused as to the logic of what has and hasn't been allowed is another matter but the plain facts are simple). It isn't solely about transferring. There was an SEC rule about WHEN you are allowed to transfer within the conference. Aberdeen entered the portal during the window the SEC allows. Mitchell didn't. There has been no court case challenging that SEC rule. There have been court cases challenging the NCAA rule on allowing 5th years for everyone EXCEPT this class. If it’s solely about transferring I don’t understand how Aberdeen is allowed to play, regardless of whether he got into the portal in time
Let me rephrase. I understand the rules genius. This has been explained like 73 times, I'm not sure how anyone could possibly still be confused about the facts (being confused as to the logic of what has and hasn't been allowed is another matter but the plain facts are simple). You clearly didn't understand, or you wouldn't have asked "if it's solely about transferring..." considering it is NOT solely about transferring. Nice attempt at scrambling after the fact, though.Let me rephrase. I understand the rules genius.
I don’t understand WHY it’s a rule.
Hope this helps.
For sure. We can’t let them turn three yards into 15 plus. Barnes missed a few against LSU that cost us some big yards and 3rd downs. I think he was gassed of course but Alex isn’t missing those tackles. That’s a huge difference in momentum and will result in points that we can’t afford. I think Barnes is going to be fine but he must clean those up. Anyone know when we find out?Not to be dramatic, but getting Afari back for the fame tomorrow might be the difference between winning and losing

No disagreement from me, the NCAA/SEC are being dumb afSure, but where the argument is still valid is that it was stupid for any player exhausting eligibility to enter the portal. Then, when they were ruled by the court case and allowed to transfer, the SEC pulled the jerk move of not allowing a one-time exception because of the new ruling.
So, it is kinda still just about transferring. Either way, what we can probably all agree on is that everyone (fans, players, coaches, etc) is debating because of some really poor decisions/leadership from higher levels
..but you're right! It would be huge, especially being so thin at LB right now.Not to be dramatic, but getting Afari back for the fame tomorrow might be the difference between winning and losing
What fame? Not to be dramatic, but getting Afari back for the fame tomorrow might be the difference between winning and losing
I can answer that. It was a football rule to prevent ghost transfers. No one ever conceived it would be applied to basketball.Let me rephrase. I understand the rules genius.
I don’t understand WHY it’s a rule.
Hope this helps.
