This is one of the dumber posts I've seen on this board. Ole Miss got shellacked by a mediocre Florida team that has been shellacked by two teams we beat on the road. UK went to overtime to beat USCe on the road. They got beat by Bama at home just like we did.Yes, to 2 top 20 teams on the road that are better than us.
Honestly, it's hard to say what to do when we don't know the injury details. He can play through a grade 1 or 2 turf toe. It will be a pain tolerance issue and it will have to heal after the season. He won't be mobile either way. A grade 3 requires sitting and surgery. A hammy means less mobility and a bad ankle does too. Either way he's a statue with a bad plant foot with whatever is going on.
Kamario doesn't have the offensive line to just stand back there and sling it. And there's still some accuracy issues at times. His super power is being able to escape the rush, make throws on the run, or make plays with his feet. And then hit on explosive plays when the run game is complementary. If he isn't mobile, and our run game isn't producing, the offense stagnates. Nobody wants to hear this but it's the truth.Did Tom Brady have to be mobile? Dude won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers standing back there slinging it. Just surround KT with a world class OL and he'll be just fine. I just get the vibe that there's a significant gap between him and the backup QB's. Those Croom years were very traumatic for me LOL.
Yea, if he is a statue back there and teams don't have to respect him running, his effectiveness is going to go way down just like it did against Bama later in the game.Kamario doesn't have the offensive line to just stand back there and sling it. Based on what? Like your positivity though.Billy Puckett is better than any backup we had during the Croom years.
He was a prep school phenom whose stats speak highly of his leadership and athletic ability. In 2023, Prep lost to West Jones by score of 6 to 21. In 2024 they won 42 -7. He flipped the margin by 50 points in one year. His cumulative prep record was 42-11 with a 9:1 TD to INT ratio his senior year. That's alright. He's only played in two games so far this year but he has looked like a serviceable QB who has not come close to his ceiling yet.Based on what? Like your positivity though.
2023 game WJ had one of the best HS defenses I've ever seen. They just overwhelmed the Prep line. Puckett was getting immediate pressure and taking hits all night long. But he kept getting up and throwing the ball (completed 1 deep pass which led to their points). I thought, man that QB is tough. 2024 all 11 players from that defense were playing JUCO or Div II ball. And he just torched them. If you listen to Lebby's press conference today he actually said in reference to KT day to day and week to week. I think they asked him so many questions about KT's health he accidentally let that one slip.I took that leak to mean he’s playing. lol.
If Thamel has the scoop it probably came directly from Lebby or at least with Lebby’s permission to share. I don’t know why we’d leak that he’s MAYBE out unless we were trying to out-Kiffin, Kiffin.
Which is entirely possible because I think Lebby and Kiffin have beef from the OM days and to Lebby this may be his first realistic shot at beating Lane.

Agree, Not worth it. Take our beating and go homeI won't mind if he sits....Kiffin is going to beat us to death Saturday. Let him heal up for the home game...no need to have his season ended down there in a meaningless loss.
If he is not at least 85%-90% Saturday and there is hope for improvement by the Oklahoma game, he needs to sit it out.
Do we win there ? Yes or no ? It's a miracle we pulled the win out here...with the leading rusher(300 of which came at our expense) in the league last year out for them. Kentucky on the road would be a toss-up. We are similar, good but not great. Is Missouri better than us?
Correction: we beat 1 of them on the road. Florida losing to Mizzou on the road is not surprising...losing to USCE is shocking. I can only assume they were making travel arrangements to Austin and looking ahead to this week's game. This is one of the dumber posts I've seen on this board. If we were healthy, I'd actually expect us to win this game. We're not healthy and we're probably not going to win, but we'd definitely have a shot if Fluff were healthy and KT had just limited mobility rather than something that's likely going to make it difficult to run and probably mess with his throwing.
If he is not at least 85%-90% Saturday and there is hope for improvement by the Oklahoma game, he needs to sit it out.
On this we can all agree. That toe is the most important toe in Mississippi right now.
Maybe. We beat them, but only because of Fluff. Is Missouri better than us?
Jesus Christ, some of y’all are such schitty fans. I hate that I’m a fan of the same team as you. Kentucky is not 17ing better than us. I hope some of y’all are trolls because it pisses me off that we supposedly cheer for the same team.
I think this is the opposite of true? The losers saying play Puckett will be the same ones saying fire Lebby if he only wins 6/7 games.
Sick and tired of people saying concede this game. In this age of college football, you are playing for the playoff. I could care less if state makes it into whatever bowl. You lose Saturday and the playoff is out the window. We have two seasons with K1. If he can stand, go out fighting.

If K1 can not only play, but play WELL, and not be of any risk for further injury aggravation, or be of any risk for a new injury due to compensating for the existing one, then he should play. Otherwise, he should sit.Sick and tired of people saying concede this game. In this age of college football, you are playing for the playoff. I could care less if state makes it into whatever bowl. We’re literally the higher ranked team. Screw conceding this game to them. People are acting like LSU is Alabama 2.0 when this team already has losses to Kentucky and an Ole Miss team without a defense.Sick and tired of people saying concede this game. It depends on the injuries. We are a very different team when healthy. We’re literally the higher ranked team. Screw conceding this game to them. People are acting like LSU is Alabama 2.0 when this team already has losses to Kentucky and an Ole Miss team without a defense.

Lots to unpack here....I'd just say that KT needs to play if he can play, but I suspect it will be Puckett. And if it ends up being Puckett, that doesn't absolve Lebby of anything or create an excuse for him because he's responsible for the roster construction that made us so reliant on the health of one player. I get that it's a special player, but if the backup was better, if he was surrounded by a better OL, and if I felt better about our ability to run the ball or for our defense to get off the field on third down, or if I felt better about Lebby's ability to scheme up a unique game plan to suit the situation, then maybe we would be more willing to cut him a break. The losers saying play Puckett will be the same ones saying fire Lebby if he only wins 6/7 games.
Without KT and Bothwell it is almost an automatic loss. We need Bothwell as much for his pass protection as his running.I’m not saying we for sure win, just don’t think it’s nearly the automatic L that many seem to think.
Scheming to suit the situation is overrated. If you have to do more than minor tweaks you are in deep trouble before you ever start. Roster construction now has less to do with the coach than at anytime in history. We have to overpay across the board to get people to come here, and it handicaps us. For the record, I'm still firmly on the fence about Lebby.Lots to unpack here....I'd just say that KT needs to play if he can play, but I suspect it will be Puckett. Didn't work that way in 2014.Not schitty, just realistic. I think most of us are just pissed off because we have all seen this movie before and we know what the outcome will be. We'll play like trash while LSU plays their best game of the season and makes us look like chumps. We're just sick of it and being sarcastically pessimistic is a way to cope for some. I'd give anything to be wrong but we all know what's coming.

You don't have to overpay across the board if you know how to evaluate and bring in the right complementary talent. There's a difference between recruiting for need and throwing money at the most expensive option.
It's a dreamworld where most of the top programs in the country live in reality. There are alot of programs who recruit at a lower level than us or who have less NIL to work with than us who find a way to be successful. Not just successful, but consistently successful.Dreamworld
Your roster is constructed to play a certain way. If you try to change that drastically for one game you get a square peg in a round hole. That's just the way it works. You moved the goal posts by the way, unintentionally I‘m sure. We were discussing the LSU game, not the philosophical approach for the entire program over time. It's a dreamworld where most of the top programs in the country live in reality. Maybe you were talking about the LSU game. I'm talking about general capability. A roster is constructed a certain way but it doesn't mean you have to keep handing the ball off into the teeth of a zero run blitz because that's how the roster is constructed. This is why coaches game plan and make in-game adjustments. And this particular coach's inability to deviate from a script is why we almost always come out guns blazing but then have long lulls of stagnation once the other coach makes his adjustments. Every play design and every formation is typically going to have multiple counters off of it based on what the opposing coach is doing or trying to take away. You don't have to be some great ball knower to understand this - if you've ever played Madden at a rookie level, you would understand this.Your roster is constructed to play a certain way.
