I don't see ANY similarity between Long and Davis other than being troublemakers. As for Davis, we all remember him being a hothead on the mat as a freshman when calls did not go his way and hoping he would outgrow his lack of emotional maturity. Some never get there.
I saw a Facebook post about Davis by someone who claims to know him from way back when he was much younger. The poster's comments were not exactly complimentary. If there's any truth to what he said, Cael may have picked a bad apple.

That was the intention of my post. Based solely on being in Cael’s doghouse more than once, Long and Davis are similar. Personality wise, I don’t know either personally so it’d be unfair to pass judgement. I hope Davis is able to correct his course rather than pan out how Long did.

If that is true... that is a shame. Scooter has so much potential and could easily be a NC. He seems to have regressed however (behaviorally) and I wonder if the regression (athletically) is related at all ? Prayers that this is (if true) is the catalyst for some serious reflection and lifestyle changes as he begins a new chapter in his life. Wishing him nothing but the best (except against us).

Lack of discipline in one part of his life is reflected in the same way in another.

I will always be a fan and wish him well on and off the mat if this is in fact the end. His Freshman year at 125 was really an incredible story. Week after week he would drag 7th year seniors to OT in the Big Ten and kept getting wins. I will always remember the post on here "Deaugustino looks like he just came home from the Civil War to wrestle his son". Won the B10 tournament, #1 seed at nationals, as gritty as anyone who has worn the singlet. I hope he can straighten it out and get a hold of his struggles.

yep.... so often that is true but what makes it odd is he is surrounded by a bunch of discipline people chasing high goals. That typically raises the bar not lowers it. Unless you feel like you are the odd man out. Imposter Syndrome is real and if that is true..... I hope wherever he goes, it is a chance at a rebuild / not a ferrarri type of meltdown no matter where he is at!
