sort of OT: James Madison's strength of schedule is 133rd; does their conference get an auto CFP bid?

A recent thread had a link to an early CFP playoff list with the hawks at #10. Yeah the hawks could get in with only one more loss or an 11-1 record.

The list had James Madison at #12. I did a search for their strength of schedule and it is one of the weakest.

I would think a 3 loss Big 10 or SEC team would get in ahead of them.

Please explain to me how James Mad could get in this year.

I would prob put New Mexico (MW leader) or PAC12 winner (Boise or Oregon State) ahead of James Madison also.

Undefeated seasons are great, but not scheduling a P4 team should count against G6 auto bids.
