MY PICKS (5-2 Last Week, 49-13 on the season)
GOLDSBORO COUGARS 0-7 0-3 @ (15)PRINCETON BULLDOGS 3-4 0-2
Two teams in search for their first conference win of the season collide this week. The Bulldogs returns to action off of an bye week, in their last outing they were embarrassed by Wallace Rose Hill 42-7. They'll be trying to take that frustration out on the winless Cougars, who were shutout by my Tigers
55-0 last week. I believe that this will be a great opportunity for the Cougars to put a couple of scores on the board, but they won't be able to slow down that Bulldogs rushing attack. G 12 P 66
(4)JAMES KENAN TIGERS
5-1 3-0 @ C. B. AYCOCK GOLDEN FALCONS 2-5 0-4
On the road again, my Tigers
will take the short trip to Pikeville to battle the 2-5 Golden Falcons. The Falcons are on a four game losing streak, including a 44-7 loss to Rocky Mount last week. It seems that they has some internal issues going on, cause they were more competitive at the start of the season. Their two wins has come against teams that are in smaller classifications than they are. So I expect them to come out swinging to try and defend their home turf. My Tigers
are riding a three game winning streak, and will look to make it four straight against the Golden Falcons. Last week my Tigers
were victorious over helpless Goldsboro winning 55-0. I believe that the Golden Falcons will put up more of a fight than what Goldsboro did, but will fall short. JK 49 CBA 7
GAME OF THE WEEK
(23)ROSEWOOD EAGLES 3-4 1-1 @ (7)MIDWAY RAIDERS 6-1 2-1
The Raiders can breath a bit, after going through the toughest part of their conference schedule. Where they defeated the two sets of Bulldogs, but couldn't tame my Tigers
. For 45 minutes last week against Wallace Rose Hill, the Raiders couldn't figure out the combination for the Bulldogs defense, trailing 16-6 late in the contest, they finally broke through with probably their best drive of the season, cutting the lead to 16-12. That set up an amazing finish, scoring the go ahead touchdown with 10 seconds remaining. Now they'll have to regroup and turn their attention to a scrappy Eagles squad coming off a bye week. The Eagles were crushed on the road against Martin County in their last outing two weeks ago 51-7. The Eagles offense has to be perfect for 4 quarters in order for them to have a chance in upsetting this Raiders team. The Raiders defense is big and strong up front, and they are very stingy against the run. The Raiders offense can be explosive if they can get a rhythm going. Look for the Raiders to calm down and take control of this one in the second half. R 15 M 46
OTHER GAMES OF INTEREST
(5)NORTHEASTERN EAGLES 6-1 1-0 @ (12)HERTFORD COUNTY BEARS
5-2 2-0
This one may be the best game across 3a this week. We have two offenses that can light up the scoreboard from anywhere on the field. And the Bears
has done just that in every game this season, scoring over 28 points, but has scored over 40 points in all of their wins, including a 64-33 win over Currituck County last week. The Eagles had a week off and they rolled over Currituck County 46-21 in their last outing. Which defense will show up and create more possessions for their offenses in this one? I believe that the Eagles will start fast but will have to hold off a rally from the Bears
in the end. N 41 HC 31
FAIRMONT GOLDEN TORNADOES 3-4 1-1 @ (10)WHITEVILLE WOLFPACK 6-0 1-0
I have been watching the Golden Tornadoes closely this season, and I've been waiting for them to pull off an upset. They almost accomplished that in their last outing two weeks ago on the road against South Columbus, falling just short 16-14. Now they have had two weeks to prepare for the undefeated Wolfpack, who had little to no problem downing South Brunswick 41-20 last week. The Wolfpack better not sleep on these Tornadoes, cause they are capable of pulling off the upset. And I think
they'll have a chance in the end, but will fall short. F 21 W 27
(16)GREENE CENTRAL RAMS
4-3 1-1 @ AYDEN-GRIFTON CHARGERS 2-5 1-1
The Rams
were the guest for Kinston's HOMECOMING last week, and they rolled into town and dominated them 49-24. Now they'll be the guest of the Chargers for their HOMECOMING this week. The Chargers won for the second time this season with a 28-7 victory over winless Beddingfield. Both of their wins has come against teams that hasn't won a game. Even though the Chargers are playing better now than they were a month ago, I don't think they'll be able to keep up with the Rams. GC 35 AG 17
(22)SOUTH COLUMBUS STALLIONS 5-2 2-0 @ SOUTH BRUNSWICK COUGARS 3-4 1-1
The Stallions has won four in a row, and they are doing it with their defense. They had a shutout win over Red Springs last week and will now take on a Cougars team that's wounded. The Cougars lost last week against unbeaten Whiteville, a game where they started too late. They'll need to get their offense off in running in this one because the Stallions are playing with confidence and are on a collision course with Whiteville for the conference crown in the season finale. Look for the Stallions to keep rolling. SC 28 SB 7
(13)CLINTON DARK HORSES
5-2 2-0 @ (9)EAST DUPLIN PANTHERS 6-1 2-0
These two rivals will collide this week with the conference championship on the line. The Panthers opened conference play with two shutouts, including a 63-0 win over Heide Trask last week. The Dark Horses
were impressive in their 37-6 victory over South Lenoir last week. These two has a history of classic battles when they get together, including their 20-13 Panthers win in their meeting last season. Both teams are playing some good football right now, and they'll be trying to keep it moving. It's hard going into Beulaville and walking away victorious, (believe me I know, my Tigers
tried earlier this season). So the Dark Horses
will have to mix it up on offense, and play keep away with the Panthers offense. Cause the Panthers will limit how many possessions the Horses
will get. I think that it'll be another classic battle with the Panthers holding good on their home field. C 13 ED 17

Wallace Rose Hill and Midway probably provided us with the greatest finish this season. The game was a defensive battle until Midway found a way to get the job done. Now the Bulldogs will have a week off to sit and think about what went wrong. That's the hardest part about losing before a bye week. Now Midway will be the biggest Bulldogs fans when my Tigers
make that trip to the Dog Pound in the season finale. My Tigers has to stay focused, and take it one game at a time. Goldsboro has athletes, and if or when they get that program back right, then we're all in trouble. Rosewood and Princeton should be ready to finish strong after their bye weeks. Look for another exciting week of action in the SVC. Good luck to all of the SVC teams in action this week. LET'S GOOOO TIGERS
