You'd think after the last 3 years with the Byron/Montini and Byron/IC games that Byron would have earned some respect from you CCL fans, but I guess not.

Currently Massey has IC as a favorite over Byron by only 7.
It's going to be an entertaining bracket either way. Do you know if St. Joseph-Ogden is going north or south?

I am legit interested in 8A:
- At least one of Loyola, Mount Carmel, and Lincoln-Way East will lose before the state championship game
- Is Huntley for real?
- Does Oswego make a run again?
- Might we see an all-Joliet opening round game?
- Can Bolingbrook go far? Maybe New Trier? HF? Maine South?
- Could any of the CPS teams win a game?

If a potential IC-Byron game is played at IC, I’m confident in IC winning. If it’s at Byron it’s a toss up. I don’t believe IC has ever beat Byron by more than 7 when the game has been played at Byron

Agreed! Also, looking back on ICs season, besides the Loyola game, which game did IC struggle the most with? I would say that the Iggy game was their toughest battle. My opinion on the why they only won by a touchdown.... Iggy runs the triple option. This is not something that IC sees very often, and while Byron doesn't run the triple option, they do run a disciplined power run game that can give teams fits. They shorten the game down, and all it takes is some bad weather in November and the pass game doesn't work as well. Oh, and they have a former NFL guy calling their defense. IC, with much of the same guys back from last year, put up a whopping 6 points against Byron last year. While i agree that IC should be slightly favored, it would be foolish to think that Byron can't beat them. As the brackets take shape, it looks like this could be a quarterfinal game again this year. I also think that RB is going through the season a little under the radar. They are better than they were last year, and have a tailback that has already rushed for nearly 2,000 yards (has 35 TDs too) through 8 weeks. I know that Byron put the BTA on them in the semi's last year, but I wouldn't totally count them out of this discussion either. They played IC in 2018 and 2019 and went 1-1. One of these three will beat St Joseph-Ogden in the state final ;)
