Obviously, he doesn't come close to Kmario, and not not many QBs do, but I know very little about our backup QB. If and he has to step up and play at some point in the season, would he at least be able to somewhat keep us in the game?

I really hope we didn't pay AJ Swann and Jaden Rashada very much money to come here. One has starting experience and the other was a former 5 star that everybody wanted. They come here and get beat out by the Prep kid
I honestly didn't believe Puckett was the real #2 until he came in vs Alabama.

As to the original poster's question. 6'0" and 180 lbs. Walkon not rated out of high school. Good kid and a tough guy. But he's way out of his league if he has to take meaningful snaps.

Who was the QB 20+ years ago whose family had fur coat stores in AL?

Billy can spin it, has some athleticism/mobility, & doesn't lack in the confidence dept, but he is smallish. I'm more concerned with his ability to run the O & read the defense in the environment he's about to face.

Another thing is he didn't turn the ball over much in HS. Maybe he'll take care of the football.

Just our luck though. If we had all of our starters I believe we'd smoke LSU.

Call me crazy, but I don't think the environment will be a huge issue. 11 am in baton rouge after they just lost to KY, and no time to tailgate and cook gumbo and corndogs? It will not be well attended is my guess.

Same. I thought for sure one of the other two was gonna come in against Bama.

Josh Morgan was a tough as nails QB that was very serviceable and played well when called on.
Dont remember if he started a SEC game on the road though - has been a few years since then.

Rob & Brett Morgan were QBs, Josh was a safety. Rob played some behind Matt Wyatt in 1996 & 1997.
I think Brett took a couple of knees at the end of an Ole Miss win.

Oh my gosh! It just doesn’t matter Puckett is what we have because the other 2 obviously SUCK! If KT cannot run he will be a sitting duck waiting for something really bad to happen. Play the kid, take our chances, and live with KT healing up another week. Oklahoma’s offense is not good. But their defense is SEC level and With a healthy ish KT, with 70% mobility, State can beat them. This team has a chance to finish with 8 wins. Don’t end up 5-7 by playing a hurt QB and getting him hurt worse!

And then prove your damn worth Lebby by ditching everybody but KT and Puckett and go spend money on a potential Starter who can compete with KT next year! The worst QB evaluation I’ve ever seen for us in the position. Please don’t give Lebby credit for Finding Kamario Taylor. Taylor came to State the signing class after 2-10 for gosh sakes!

He gives me Mike Henig vibes.

I hope he turns out to be the next Tom Brady, though...seems a long shot.
