If we don't beat UT....

All the UF good vibes in the media will be out the window. Instead of "Gamecocks end 8-game SEC losing streak" the narrative will be "Gamecocks lose 9 of 10 last SEC games."

I hope Beamer is balancing the exuberance that, while a nice win, it was a single win....the first conference win in over a year. We still have a ways to go.

Saw a snippet from the Saban documentary. Kirby Smart related after one of their national title wins, he was out until 4:30 am celebrating. Saban sent out a message early the next morning that there was a staff meeting at 7:30 am. The day after winning the title. Kirby wondered why there was a meeting since it seemed unlikely anyone would be getting fired after winning the title. The meeting, at 7:30 am the day after winning the title, was about addressing deficiencies on the team for the next season.

I know it sounds crazy but I like our chances at home. I think it will also be a night game.

I don't believe our team is scared one iota. They know in the pits of their stomachs they should be 5-1 heading into this game. JMHO.

My evaluation is that this team can put up points when La Norris plays anywhere close to the way he played on Saturday. I like the combination of Fuller and Coleman at RB. The line looked better on Saturday, it helps having Peak in there. On D, we have to continue to pressure the QB. The LB's are the strength of the team. The secondary is the area of concern, way too many big plays. If we can beat UT, Arkansas, and Clemson we can still get to 6 wins. I think A & M will give us fits even though Marcel Reed has not looked good.

Shane desperately needs to learn that! He needs to become more centered, stop getting so emotional, and for Pete's-sake, quit bitching about "the narrative", the "media", and "the negativity". Win ballgames Shane.

Yeah, Shane needs to shut up about the narrative and do something to change it. I don't think he has it in him to change though. I still think there is something wrong with him emotionally.

Yeah, but its just facts. We could go from snapping a losing streak to 1 out of 10, and its really just reporting facts.

Meaning, we dug this hole, its going to take more than one week to get out of it.

Energy is the currency of life.

Shane and Dabo often act like boobs because young players dig the positive energy.

Probably another reason why Saban hit the road when the NIL arrived.

When you have OL making next to nothing protecting a QB pulling in $4mil a year, they need a positive message.

Do you mean when he stomps around acting like a petulent child?
That, constantly being defensive, over the top celebrations for making a first down, losing his mind on the sideline over penalties and generally being way too high and way too low. I would guess as a child he got pretty much everything he wanted because of who daddy was, same with having the skids greased for him getting into coaching. He never had to take a job at an FCS or even G5 program. He started right out of college at Georgia tech.

In short, I think he might be a spoiled brat.

Think it`s supposed to be an afternoon game. That will be good considering the Fair will be here. Can go there to celebrate the win or to console yourself with an elephant ear.

Which would be better for us: Alabama or UT winning this Saturday in Knoxville? Spurrier believes Bama will win. Have to believe that getting UT right after they play Bama is to our advantage.

I'm not a big Shane defender but I think he's well aware of the importance of the UT game.....

That feeling in the pit of their stomachs won't mean anything unless it's coupled with them understanding that it's their fault they aren't 5-1.

Beamer has to ask the team if the UF win will be a 2024 moment where we turn the tide on a disappointing season or a 2019 UGA moment where the win means nothing in the long run.

We could turn the tide and still lose to UT. They are a decent team.

It's true. They are good. I'm not suggesting that we WILL beat UT if we have truly progressed as a team. But losing to them opens the door right back up for all the negativity, particularly if it's with defensive busts, poor throws and WR drops.

Spurrier believed UF was going to win Saturday.
I know Spurrier loves SC. But being a UF grad, I wonder if he was going with his heart?

I was thinking the other day that Spurrier is without doubt, the best football coach we have ever had, making us nationally relevant for a period of time. If a statue was ever to be made of a USC coach, it would be of Spurrier.

By the way, UF Coach Jon Sumrall said his son texted him saying their loss to the Gamecocks was "an embarrassment". I take that as an insult.

Entitled little snot; same as many of their fans. There are those that view that mindset as ‘dedication to winning’ apparently; I don’t want that. To disrespect a program that goes thru what these guys go thru as not worthy of equal competition to me is the embarrassing thing. That’s disgusting.
