A thoughtful and interesting week……

1 - That IC is for real
2 - That Rochester - SHG is one of the best rivalries in the state - think we knew this but we were reminded.
3 - That York is still York
4 - That too many teams have ended their season early. Not good for our sport.
5 - That Libertyville is the NSC’s best.
6 - That Barrington was in life support - not no more
7 - That once mighty Phillips will now be only called Phil
8 - That Riverdale and Riverton have had seasons without football in the last 5 years. Now they will be in the playoffs.
9 - That the showdowns in week nine this year are as good as we could’ve asked for.
10 - That Naperville North is all the way back - with the East Side awaiting

That the playoff pairings come out this week & the city prep bowl playoffs start!!! Seemed like yesterday we were waiting for the season to start & sadly soon it will be over. And that despite the fact they are 4-1 Westmont won’t be going to the playoffs. All these schools many small ones with open dates. Hmmmmm

I thought Edgy mentioned in a previous post that the 6 game requirement wouldn't apply with the expanded playoffs and that Westmont would be in.

Westmont and Lisle need to talk co-op in football. Lisle has very low numbers and didn't even play a varsity schedule last season.

I thought Edgy mentioned in a previous post that the 6 game requirement wouldn't apply with the expanded playoffs and that Westmont would be in.

According to the Souc the IHSA told him that six games are required and schools with openings have contacted them for a game and were declined due to roster/safety issues.

Who is the real does it matter? You just have to play the games as scheduled. Texas lost to Oklahoma, who would have thought? If you are the high rank teams, almost everyone will target you. Upsets will happen and it is very hard to go undefeated.
