Why the hell are people picking OU 65% to UK 35%?

I mean WTF? At worst, this should be a pick em. And honestly, I think UK has a better team than Oklahoma. I don't think OU's defense will be able to stifle UK's running game the way LSU did in the 2nd half tonight. Plus, after beating Texas, OU is due for a letdown.

Thinking logically it is on the road after all. Both teams will probably be hungover after a big win so it’s probably a coin toss. I say Oklahoma wins and hopefully I jinx it.

They just knocked off the #1 team on the road. Their QB has been bad but he wasn't tonight. They have a first class defense and they are playing at home. It will take the same kind of effort we had tonight to beat em down there. I call it a pick em game with a slight lean to us. If we can have another clean sheet on the turnover front we should win. We have 5 of remaining six games against teams that are ranked or have been. 3 incredibly hard road games. We have put ourselves in a great position but still have a long way to go to get to a playoff. I must say however I NEVER thought we would be in this position at this point. I so wish the Bama game would have been later in the season. To make playoff I think we have to win out. Just don't think the Committee puts a 2 loss UK team in there even if we deserve it. We win out they have no choice.

Hope the lack of respect continues for the remainder of the season. Leave us unranked for all I care. Its just very potent locker room material to fuel that "chip on the shoulder". I'm all about that final end of season ranking.

To be fair, after back to back overtime wins in the manner it was done and the high this team and fanbase is on right now, I think you could say we are also due for a letdown just as much as them if so. It’s going to be absolute battle to pull off that win

Oklahoma has scored 40 points in the SEC so far total. Total.

They cannot score.

On the other hand we average like 33 points a game

We should beat them cuz they can't keep up with us offensively unless they're defense just happens to be lights out

Should be a perfect time for a letdown game. Texas is OU's Louisville-UK. That said, we are coming off a pretty big win as well

Well let’s rehash that

1. Great win in a big rivalry
2. 27 pts vs Texas ..7 on blocked punt and 7 on pick six snd another 3 on short field due to arch manning losing the game. So 17 pts of 27 on defense and special teams…Oklahoma has not solved any offense problems to my eye
3. Play a clean game (easier said then done) but minchey and stein have showed we can protect the ball.

so I think UK is the better team if we csn get up for another game…but they have to get up after Texas on their end. But Uk can hold Oklahoma to under 20 with a clean game

It was technically a neutral site. It was at the Texas Cotton bowl, and there was just as many Oklahoma fans as Texas fans.

Iirc it is literally 50/50 there by design.

I think we should be a dog in this one. Its in norman. Our offense showed struggle vs elite defense and Oklahoma has one. Their hc is probably the best defensive mind in cfb so scheming guys open is going to he harder too.

We just have to hope mateer keeps whatever weird struggles he's going through. If he plays like his old/normal self we will be in trouble.

Trying to be as unbiased as possible i think its a coin toss on who wins. We probably need another special teams or defensive td because of that defense.

Why is this a surprise to you?

It's a road game and OU started the season in the top 10, that means they have top 10 talent.

Also, why is it Oklahoma is the only team out of the two that should suffer a letdown after a big win? Wasn't our win yesterday a big win too?

Heck, we just won two massive games in a row in overtime, we are more likely to suffer a letdown than they are.

Last thing, we just lost the element of surprise. Everyone is onto us now, we are no longer quietly sneaking up on teams, everyone is on high alert.

Ya gotta take the blue glasses off.

With six (6) games left on the schedule, I can confidently see us winning half of them, so I am happy to revise my season prediction to eight (8) wins
My pre-season projection was only four (4) wins, so I am most happy to admit I was very wrong in under-rating how we good we would become.

Who freaking cares? Let's find anything we can to b*tch and moan about. Just play the damn game and the results will speak for themselves.

Regardless of the line, I honestly expect to win with Stein, cool cat Minchey and the rest of this squad. We play hard and smart. As long as they don't get a bunch of lucky bounces I think we get em.

UK has a very crafty offense. Any team can lay an egg sooner or later but with Stein and this team I’m not penciling in a loss to any particular team the rest of the year, especially the next game. The only thing that concerns me is depth of that first string as the season goes on. I had us penciled in for 6 wins this season before it started. I think 8 or 9 is doable and personally I’d love if we had played Bama a few games later. I also openly enjoy the blue koolaid so what do I know.

Night road SEC game. Top 10-20 D. It will take a huge effort to win this one, just like the rest. Can we do it? Sure we can, but I have no problem with the current +6.5 spread.

Because it's at Oklahoma and they just beat the #1 team? I mean conventional wisdom would say they would be favored but that's fine, I think we are the better football team.

They just beat the number one team in the country, arguably have as much talent as we do, and they are playing at home in a juice environment.

Oregon and aTm were preseason top 10 and no longer in the polls. Oregon was actually #2 based mainly on their offensive talent and the voters were jaded by that which was the expected norm, only real difference is they’re minus Will Stein on the staff. Definitely agree on the talent but with the parity of NIL, even with less talent, coaching is more important than ever imo.

The let down potential for them is they had two weeks to prepare for texas bc they had a bye week.

OU just scored one of the biggest wins of the season. They are at their peak. They've lost to Georgia and Michigan on the road. They are probably about what you'd expect at this point of the season with 3 of their first 5 games against Michigan, Georgia, and Texas.

UK has one of the best strength of records, but they haven't made much ground in many other rating systems. SP+, for example, still has UK in the 40's. I've seen UK anywhere from 2nd-upper 40's depending on the system. Oklahoma is borderline top 25 across the board.

Oklahoma has a huge home field advantage.
But, Venables is not a good coach and I believe Stein will outsmart him.
