... would be willing to grant Lane asylum?

Gonna have to find somewhere to hide from the cajuns after losing another game.

LSU boosters be like....

LSU is a pure mercenary team. They don't have the team chemistry and bond that they need when they face adversity.

Led by the quintessential narcissist who also happens to be a compulsive liar. Sounds like a match made in heaven.

What percentage of D1 programs would that describe today?

He would never take the SC job. He is as mercenary as the players he poaches from other teams. He knows SC isn't going to throw$50M a year at him and his players.

I'm not sold on the narrative of him being a great coach.

I saw a good breakdown of how Stein got inside Lane's head on that OT TD and 2-point conversion.

LSU could end up unranked. They still have to play MSU, Alabama, Texas and Tennessee.

Perhaps. But LSU will always be rank, regardless of their on-field performance.

He’s the evil Shane Beamer.

They bet the farm on that guy.

LSU fans are leaning on the "wait til Lane gets his players" but due to the portal, he largely does have his players. They are paying big time bucks for that roster, and it's not hard to see them with 4 losses this year. This is the old days when it took 3 years for a coach to get his players in place.

That excuse is muscle memory from pre NIL days. Lane is not lacking talent at LSU.
