Regardless the coach or players they have always been soft. Minus Johnny football team. Dont think the OL has been this bad in long time. The QB is trash.

I wonder who is working with Reed on his footwork. Its hard to catch him throwing while pushing off his plant foot. Like he was trained to jump as he throws

Per Gemini:

In the last ten years, Texas A&M University has spent well over $600 million directly on its football program. When accounting for broader athletic department overhead that supports football (such as facilities, debt service, and support staff), the total investment approaches nearly $1 billion.
A breakdown of the university's heaviest football spending across your requested categories details where that money went:

1. Coaching Staff Buyouts: ~$104 million

Texas A&M notoriously leads the college football arms race in "paying coaches not to coach."
  • Jimbo Fisher: When Texas A&M fired Jimbo Fisher in November 2023, they triggered a $76.8 million buyout, by far the largest contract buyout in college sports history. The university paid a lump sum of $19.2 million in early 2024 and is currently paying him $7.2 million annually through 2031. [1, 2]
  • Kevin Sumlin & Staff: Prior to Fisher, Texas A&M paid a $10.4 million buyout to terminate Kevin Sumlin in 2017, alongside roughly $17 million to buy out his assistant coaches and subsequent staff transitions over the decade.

2. NIL (Name, Image, and Likeness) Pay: ~$115+ million

While official NIL numbers were historically private, public records requests and industry valuations give a clear window into Texas A&M's massive roster spending since NIL was legalized in 2021:
  • 2024–2025 Academic Year: Open-record reporting revealed that Texas A&M athletes earned a staggering $50.5 million in NIL deals over a single 12-month period, which was nearly triple the $19.4 million from the prior year. The vast majority of this was funneled directly into the football roster. [3]
  • 2026 Season: Texas A&M's football roster spending has leveled out at an elite tier, with The Athletic reporting a football NIL budget of $45 million to $50 million for the current season. [4, 5]

3. Coaching Staff Salaries: ~$150+ million

Head coaching salaries alone make up a massive portion of the decade's ledger:
  • The Jimbo Fisher Era (2018–2023): Fisher signed an initial 10-year, $75 million contract that was extended in 2021 to a fully guaranteed $9 million to $9.5 million annually. Texas A&M paid out over $50 million in base salary to Fisher alone before his termination.
  • The Mike Elko Era (2024–Present): Current head coach Mike Elko started on a $7 million annual contract, which was bumped to an annual base salary of $10.75 million.
  • Assistant Coaches & Support Staff: In recent fiscal years, Texas A&M has spent roughly $16.3 million annually just on football coaching salaries, benefits, and bonuses, plus an additional $7 million annually for football-specific support and administrative staff. Over ten years, assistant pool expansions put this total past $90 million. [6, 7]

4. Operational & Recruiting Expenses: ~$250+ million

  • Annual Operating Expenses: The baseline cost to run Texas A&M football (including team travel, equipment, student aid, and game-day guarantees) ranges between $40 million and $60 million per year. For instance, the program reported $60.2 million in direct football expenses for the 2025 fiscal year.
  • Recruiting: Texas A&M consistently spends at the top of the nation in recruiting travel and official visits, spending $3.1 million to $4.1 million annually in recent cycles, with reports indicating booster-backed initiatives pushing specific cycle investments as high as $10 million to land top-ranked classes. [6, 8, 9, 10, 11]
Would you like a year-by-year breakdown of Jimbo Fisher's remaining payout schedule, or details on how the House v. NCAA settlement is changing Texas A&M's future athletic budget?
