agreed , he said we would b n playoffs. next yr will b most guys leave via portal than ever,
no player that is marketable going to stay here, recruiting class will implode, most coaches will jump,
everyone will know he's here cause we too cheap to buy out, it will b much worse than this yr,
the same as mens bball will b this yr

Guys, the portal changes everything. We can lose half the team in the portal and still field a winning team in 2027. Today's Athletes care about two things, NIL and playing time--that's it. I just don't trust Beamer and Co., to get the best portal players.

Well, he did do it with the OL this year. We completely gutted the OL and re-tooled it from the portal. And it's working well.

What do we need? If we hold onto Dobson, I'd say we need a couple players for secondary help. Pick up a couple solid WRs.

How eager will donors be to give NIL money knowing that Beamerbis a lame duck coach only being retired because of the buyout?

I am prepared for another year of Beamer, it is just our reality. It will be depressing like 0-21, but they should be able to fire him in December 2028.

nothing's going to change between now and then. Stop kidding yourselves.
agreed. I think it will be a swift, quiet run to the portal from a few of our "bigger" names that are staying in CFB for now.
Maybe we will get lucky like that one year when UF was in the shytter and Auburn hired west coast bryan harsin and thought he'd be a good fit in the SouthEastern Football Conference.
I'm not sure...but I'm pretty sure Bryan Harsin was luggin' boxes at bargain city for a couple years after that Auburn firing.

They can't get the best players.

He's like a customer lingering around in a grocery store after closing time. The employees just want the person to leave so that they can go home.

If this happens it will be interesting to see what the overall loss to the attendance and fan base will be if he has a failing season. Gamecock fans have always been very loyal but there is so many options out there on how to spend your Saturday now a days.

It’s not like we don’t spend a lot of money on players, it seems like we spent a lot of money on the wrong players, which is on Beamer. What we need is a coach who can get good players for less money.

Eventually people will stop paying big money for season tickets. People who want to come for the tailgate will probably get cheap tickets in the secondary market and be gone by halftime. I think a lot of fans that travel for games will stop doing this, which will cost our opponents money.

Im pretty sure our fans will still show up. We tend to pride ourselves on that.

I wonder if NIL donations dry up if Beamer returns. Would you give significant money to a program where hou k kw they're just waiting for the buyout to decrease, and wasting a year? Or would you keep that money for a year, and give it to the new coach?

It doesn't matter
But you have the exact opposite opinion in a different thread.

By your measure, all we need to do is pillage Kirby & Co. and we'll make the playoffs every year as budgets are similiar.

I'm sure USC would double his pay with that guarantee and make a very nice ROI in return.
