Wow!….what happened up there? That’s more of the type of final I expected to see last week with Starmount and East Wilkes, not a score fest. The Rams defense stepped up big tonight, blocking an early field goal attempt by the Blackhawks, and shutting them down near the goal line twice for no scoring.
Congrats to the Alleghany Trojans.
#21 Dontae Barber hawking down the Robbinsville WR after the Murphy DB collision in coverage not only saved the game for Murphy but their conference title aspirations and high playoff seed hopes as well. Huge props to that young man for not giving up on a play.

Alleghany is a good team...if we would have thrown the ball more we would have beat West Wilkes and should have beat them....our coach just loves to hand the ball to #20 too much instead of us lettlng our QB sling it...he had a better play calling balance today and not as run heavy as he was vs West Wilkes. we had our opportunities against them dropped a TD pass etc....i have no idea how east Wilkes ran for over 500 yards vs starmount....i don't know if they were tired or what but the entire game i was thinking to myself this team beat starmount. How is that possible. East has zero pass game don't think they threw one pass...there pass plays are letting the QB drop back to pass but then he just takes off and runs....the QB kept the ball on the read option 80 percent of the time tonight and the Trojans caught on. Being that one dimensional with not being able to throw the ball at all hurt them tonight. Alleghany is a good team and if coach keeps calling more and more pass plays Alleghany could make some noise on the playoffs as long as we stay away from Murphy and corvian
Clem had a quiet night in Murphys win last night. He didn't score any tds. However, Clem did have 377 yds rushing and scored 4tds in Murphys playoff win against Corvian last season.
