what's the penalty count in this game? Has Shelby magically become a structured, fundamentally sound, low penalty team?Lincolnton answers mayfield from a couple yards out
Shelby 9 Lincolnton 7
I think we had maybe 5 or 6 they had maybe 7-8 clean hard fought defensive gamewhat's the penalty count in this game? Has Shelby magically become a structured, fundamentally sound, low penalty team?
Do you count INTs as stopping Shelby?
No turnovers either teamGame of the week around these parts.
Prediction: AT Shelby….
Lincolnton 39
Shelby 34
9-7 just what we all expected, right?![]()
Nailed it!This one could very well be a shootout.... I'm leaning Shelby but wouldn't at all be surprised if Lincolnton wins..... As for Burns we need Lincolnton to win...
I'll definitely be at this game and would love to meet someone of you Lincolnton and Shelby folks
I agree cept the other way around I dont want to see them Wolves again ... Great team over there it came down to the last minute like a lot of us thought it wouldGood game and nice win Lions. Maybe we’ll meet again, but I’d rather someone else go ahead and upset you before we get that far.
Same to you. Absolutely a great defensive game. Hats off to the Lincolnton team and their coaches for a great game plan. Good luck the rest of the way.Congrats to the Golden Lions. Good team in every way, as usual. Tip of the hat and impressed with sophomore quarterback C. Scott, and K. Hunt on defense. Enjoy the win guys, hopefully we can do it again, this year. Both have tough game coming up, Shelby and Burns in 3 weeks, and Cramer at Lincolnton next Friday.
Should any of our team or staff stop by this site, great effort against a good team. Thanks for all you do. Time to get ready for next week. Your people are proud of you.
Yes talked to him and his momma at halftime...good folksI was incredibly impressed with Shelby's defense though, they kept a really explosive offense in check all night.... Ofcourse the same can be days for Lincolnton's defense too... Was a great ballgame.. Not looking forward to seeing that Shelby defense in a few weeks...
Oh and did anyone else notice that Mas Davis was escorting one of the Shelby homecoming lady's?
It sure was, both teams fought for every single yard... There wasnt a lot of jawing, not a lot of penalties , just a war on all levels... we were fortunate to come out of that game with the win... Those wolves are a handful and then some....That was a war last night
Glad yall had a good game from a team not located in that county yall keep crowing about…It sure was, both teams fought for every single yard... There wasnt a lot of jawing, not a lot of penalties , just a war on all levels... we were fortunate to come out of that game with the win... Those wolves are a handful and then some....
If the stars align they will face each other again, and I can only imagine a continuation of last night...Good luck to those Wolves the rest of the way , that Cramer game will be another doozy
I wasn’t wrong. I have been wrong plenty in life. But what I said would happen is what had to happen in order for Shelby to win.I think we had maybe 5 or 6 they had maybe 7-8 clean hard fought defensive game
EDIT:
Penalties
Shelby: 6- 50 yards
Lincolnton: 9 for 75 yard
Oh yeah you were wrong.. the end
I was at the game it was a pretty equally called game. Lincolnton had a few penalities left on the field that the officials did not call. As for the touchdown called back the flag was Thrown well before the pass left the quarterbacks hand. Total yardage was pretty much equal for both teams. It was a hard fought game between good teams and we would not be making excuses if we would have lost. See you in Shelby in a few weeks and we can do it all over again.I wasn’t wrong. I have been wrong plenty in life. But what I said would happen is what had to happen in order for Shelby to win.
Lincolnton had nearly as much penalty yardage as Shelby had total offensive yardage. And as always in football….the most key penalties are the ones that take points off the board , put first downs on or off the board or create huge yardage differences that later dictate decision making for philosophy and X and Os.
I think we are 100%.Bushleague, have you heard of any injuries?
That’s good news, especially about D. Adams. Thanks for the information. Should you hear any further about injuries please share it. Hopefully we give Cramer a better game this year.I think we are 100%.
We get No. 4 Adams back the WL game. Adams didn’t play against Shelby. 2-4 weeks. Most likely the playoffs is what the coaches expect.
I’m sure you guys will be ready, and we are expecting a very tough ballgame. Our 2 losses vs Shelby and Burns were very tough ballgames and I know your losses to the same two teams were very tough ballgames as well. Can’t simulate the speed you guys bring. You guys are so explosive. I really enjoy watching you guys play a lot more when your not playing usThat’s good news, especially about D. Adams. Thanks for the information. I know we are always talking about our young players and future (I love hearing about the young guys and watching them develop). I will brag on #3 for a minute. He is a Sophmore but has an extremely late birthday. He is barely 15. Him and our QB are two really good sophomores who don’t get as much pub as some of the other young players in our area have gotten. Our team has 24 seniors and several of them get most of the love, but we have a few young guys who are big contributors and #3 is definitely one of them.Tell No. 3, No.4, No.22 to take Friday off and rest for the playoffs.
They can take veteran week off of football
Thank you my friend. As for us, we know Cramer is big, tough, talented and mean (In a football way). I enjoy these games so much more than easy ones. Any of the restaurants uptown are good locations for food or a beer, and the burgers and hotdogs at the stadium are good, too.I’m sure you guys will be ready, and we are expecting a very tough ballgame. Thank you so much for all of that. Appreciate the kind words and directions about your facilities. Lincolnton fans have always been great when we have come up there for basketball a few times last year. I look forward to seeing a football game there for the first time in many years. You are 100% right, these type of games are exciting for the players, coaches, parents, and fans. Looking forward to Friday and getting to see all that talent you guys have.Thank you my friend. Couple of things, *The visitors stands are concrete so you might want to bring a cushion, but they're deep enough so that you can sit back and stretch some. *Don't sit on the first couple rows, you can't see over the players on the line. Unlike Cramer it isn't a new stadium, but it's not bad.
*If you want to walk over onto the Lincolnton side just to look around, keep in mind, the law enforcement closes the track off at halftime, but our announcer lets everyone know before this happens.
*For going to the visitors' side it's best to park in the lower level (Down in the bottoms). There's ample parking on the practice field (bottoms).
*Also, I get disgusted saying this: Friday's high is in the 80's but cooler weather is supposed to move in. The game should be over before it gets chilly (Low Saturday morning in the mid 40's), but sometimes after the sun goes down it feels uncomfortable. This is one of the things we catch the devil about. You probably won't need a jacket but if you get cold easily it might help to bring one.
Hope you can make it up. I know the Cramer nation is excited about their fine football program.
You cant go wrong with Court Street Grille and or BBQ King and the regular eating joints all close to schoolThank you my friend. Thank you my friend. Grateful for the kind words, and the same goes for you as well…That’s good advice about the top corner and the eatery’s.You cant go wrong with Court Street Grille and or BBQ King and the regular eating joints all close to school
Also BRING a COAT... I dont care if it is 90 degrees Friday, they turn that creek water behind the vistors stands down to iceberg and you will freeze to death.... I came over with Maiden Creek once a couple years ago, and had to leave at half cause I was so cold, missed an amazing second half
Top row corner, nearest the scoreboard, thats my spot, feel free to use... its a great place to catch a game and you can look directly across the field at the home back row and catch Mr Lincolnton pacing back and forth.... a finer person you will never meet, so do yourself a favor and go speak to him..Tell him to tell you the story of his pet roach, its a good ern
You gents have fun, it should be a great one
Thank you for the advice. Never ate at Court Steet Grill, but have eaten at BBQ King many times. You cant go wrong with Court Street Grille and or BBQ King and the regular eating joints all close to school

That’s a great story and I am actually a Belmont guy (3 generations). My Dad was in the last graduating class from Belmont HS before it became SP. He is also the one that took me to BBQ King for the first time.Thank you my friend. Grateful for the kind words, and the same goes for you as well…That’s good advice about the top corner and the eatery’s.
Strange you mentioned my roach. It was named after a cousin of mine who grew up in Belmont (Cramerton being just next door) and went to Belmont High School. She was a little skinny woman, always kind and friendly, and lived to be 92.
That bug taught me some of God’s most undesirable and lowliest creatures are able to think. Course, there are those who might say the same thing about me.
I’d better quit talking about the roach. Last time I did, had heard the site was considering a lifetime ban.![]()
Thank you for sharing that with me. My aunt lived in Belmont. When my Mother would visit her we would go to a place called Stow (maybe Stowe) park. That was a long time ago. That’s a great story and I am actually a Belmont guy (3 generations). My Dad was in the last graduating class from Belmont HS before it became SP. The last time I have watched a football game at Lincolnton was SP/Lincolnton in 96 when Lincolnton was absolutely loaded. I also remember driving up there my senior year in 94 and watching Charles Briggs dunk all over SP in basketball. Lincolnton had quite a great run of athletes those 3-5 years.
Was hoping to get to meet Mr Lincolnton this past Friday but no such luck, did get to meet AlwaysAWolf though, great guy he is!its a great place to catch a game and you can look directly across the field at the home back row and catch Mr Lincolnton pacing back and forth.... a finer person you will never meet, so do yourself a favor and go speak to him..Tell him to tell you the story of his pet roach, its a good ern![]()
