He's 1-4Has Downey ever won a RAF match, or has he ever not been tech'd.
Why does RAF keep putting him out there @WillieTheBrain ?
The beer is room temperature. Get your fake facts rightDoesn't anything that is attempting to market itself as a legitimate and growing professional sport devalue itself by paying Downey to participate?
I also can't believe they pay him more than 2 cartons of cigarettes and a case of warm beer.
Interesting if they line him up against an MMA guy. Against a wrestler, less so.
Lewis was a very good HS wrestler and probably would've had a good college career, except football.
Sheeeeesh!I’d rather just see him sitting in prison, but I hope he goes in RAF and gets plastered. No better memories than those of him hiding on the bus while Joey Porter was banging on the door trying to call him out.
Maybe he’ll do his ***** little dance if he competes.
Over half of us are Steelers fans. That’s like asking why we still hold a grudge against gable for the in state tuition thing.Sheeeeesh!
Why the hate for Ray Ray? I think people forget he turned snitch and testified.
ok, ok. Fair.Over half of us are Steelers fans. That’s like asking why we still hold a grudge against gable for the in state tuition thing.
Ray would have destroyed Porter. Ray is a fla state wrestling champ, he was also a runner up the year before.... I think he lost only one match his final two seasons and only handful in his HS career. Just bc Ray wasnt dumb enough to get off of the bus and violate his probation... dont mean that he wouldnt have destroyed Porter. FB... Dan Krider used to give Porter the business on the field in in the locker room... what do you think Ray would have done!Sheeeeesh!

Would hate him less if all parties involved would’ve x’ed each other in a Mexican standoff.Sheeeeesh!

Don’t get your point and certainly don’t agree. Danny Kreider routinely ran over Ray Lewis on the field too.Ray would have destroyed Porter. LOL.... I understand being a fan but saying Danny Krieder routinely ran Ray over is LudacrisDon’t get your point and certainly don’t agree. Danny Kreider routinely ran over Ray Lewis on the field too.
I don’t think you hide on the bus if you’re that bad a dude. From everything I heard, it was pretty embarrassing to Lewis’ manhood. The probation excuse just doesn’t hold water when NFL team security is handled by a network of former Fed-LEO fixers that make things disappear. The dude is, was, and always will be a first-rate douche from the U.
In regards to us glorifying his wrestling skills, Dude won 1 state title in the wrestling-rich state of Florida (you know, the home state of Cary Kolat, Dave Schultz, and Jeff Blatnick… wink… wink). Maybe his Greco would’ve helped him, but I doubt it. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong at RAF, but I doubt it.
You can like him all you want and have a wrong opinion, but I used to watch a guy named Jack Lambert…. So I’m not impressed by Ray’s toughness, football skill, or his lack of being able to communicate using the English language.
Not to assail your arguments or anything, but have you met sports fans on the internet before?but dont let your fandom get in the way of logic!
I’d like to agree with some of that, but can’t. Lambert could’ve played in every era. His career wasn’t as long, but do the math and you’ll see the stats don’t lie. He’s statistically better than Ray in almost every category. Besides, most NFL linebackers today are around 230/240 and most are shorter than Jack.LOL.... I understand being a fan but saying Danny Krieder routinely ran Ray over is Ludacris
You may not like Ray but he does go down as one of the top two or three MLBs of all time.
Nobody but you and Danny Krieders family even remember Danny Krieder... so to say that Danny Krieder had his way with Ray Lewis is absurd.
Jack Lambert was one of the all time greats.... but he was also 220 pounds and would not have been able to play in Rays era.
There is no way... you can look at Ray Lewis and not say he was not a dominant MLB and dominated his opponents. Heck that is why he has a gold jacket
But bigger than that... his wrestling pedigree is better than Porters... and as far as I am aware... Porter didnt have any other fighting skills... so two people who dont know how to fight and one is a state champion wrestler / ill take the wrestler every day of the week
I get you may not like Ray bc of the team he played for but dont let your fandom get in the way of logic!
Thanks for applying logic to this statement, but I don’t even have to use it to compare them for @Joejitsu. Empirical facts based on statistics can prove my points. Jack just wasn’t blessed with a 17–year career. If he were, the statistical gap would be much wider. Not to assail your arguments or anything, but have you met sports fans on the internet before?
Yea.... we will agree to disagree. I have meet Lambert and Ray both in person and Rays definitely a more imposing figure. The 4 rings was not a result of Lambert but of Lambert being part of a good team. Just like Rays two rings are part of Ray being on a good team. Thats the thing about team sports. I know Ray is a HOFer for a reason as is Lambert, so I am not taking anything from them. But Lambert played in an era when Mike Webster was a multiple time probowl C at 255 pounds. That is who Lambert played against. Ray played against OLmen who were 300 plus pounds. That is a different ball game. I dont believe Lambert could have played in any era but I do believe that Ray could have just because of his speed alone. I get it that is not popular in Steeler country but is an opinion without black and yellow glasses on. BTW the Lambert and Ray are both on the NFL all century team. Lambert was 1x DPOY / Ray 2x... Lambert 6 time 1st team All Pro / Ray 9x... Lambert 9x probowler / Ray 13I’d like to agree with some of that, but can’t. Lambert could’ve played in every era. His career wasn’t as long, but do the math and you’ll see the stats don’t lie. He’s statistically better than Ray in almost every category. Besides, most NFL linebackers today are around 230/240 and most are shorter than Jack.
Go back and watch some video. There are a few great shots of Kreider blasting Ray at the point of attack (most are Kreider meeting Ray in an a or b gap hole).
Lambert could do it all better than Ray. Well, maybe we give Ray the nod in sacks. That’s only because the Steelers Curtain didn’t need to blitz.
If you ever met Lambert in person you’d know that 220 wasn’t a weak 220. He has that body wrestling fans love - long, lean, and athletic, but sinewy strong. Besides, I’ll take farm boy strength from Mantua over Florida 11 out of 10 times (but I’m probably just Portage county biased anyway).
In regards to Porter v Lewis, I’m not at all impressed by Ray’s wrestling “pedigree” (nor the man for that matter). We can agree to disagree, but I never saw him attempt to shut Porter’s admittedly over-sized mouth.
I’ll leave it with the fact that Jack has 4 rings. That pretty much ends any comparison for most athletes.
Sorry… guess I can’t drop it.Yea.... we will agree to disagree. I have meet Lambert and Ray both in person and Rays definitely a more imposing figure. Lambert was one of the greats / but Ray is probably the greatest MLB to play the game. And BTW ... both may leave a lot to be desired as people but they were both great players!
When you say stuff like Ray was an Okay football player.... that shows this is an emotional conversation and not a rational one. So.. love is not rational and I will stop trying to appeal to your affinity with facts.Sorry… guess I can’t drop it.
Never heard a peep about Jack being a bad guy. Met him many times and found that, while he didn’t welcome attention, he was well-spoken, courteous, and engaging.
I’m not sure Ray is faster. Look up interviews with old Steelers. They talk about what a weapon Lambert was in that Perles defense because he could cover receivers 20 yards down the field. One thing is certain, neither one could touch Jack Ham (who routinely out-sprinted Lynn Swann in practice).
Don’t have to have jaundiced eyes to see Lambert is better. I do find it funny that you used the greatest center in NFL history to try to disparage Lambert. Don’t care about what awards writers voted for. Do some simple math on the stats and it’s all clear.
Just for fun with the corny awards though… you forgot to mention that Jack made 2 all-decades teams to Ray’s 1 (yes, I did have to search that up because usually don’t worry about that stuff). You also forget that Jack lost 2 of those DPOY awards to great teammates. I forget, was Ray Defensive Rookie of the Year?
In regards to imposing, I guess we see imposing differently. Jack looks pretty imposing to me. I grew up with a guy named Korey Stringer and he was imposing. Maybe Ray is too… he just wasn’t as good a linebacker as Jack.
I’ll leave it there. Yes, I am a Steelers fan, but there are a lot of guys from other teams I’d take over Ray too. Don’t like Ray. Don’t respect Ray. Think he was an OK football player. I don’t mind your posts though, so I’ll move on.

I'm missing something. How is this RAF related? Is Ray Lewis wrestling in a future RAF event? When you say stuff like Ray was an Okay football player.... that shows this is an emotional conversation and not a rational one. Accolades and stats dont mean anything when this is not based on facts
I am not looking to disparage either guy just say that I dont want my children looking to either one of them as role models.
Both Great Football players
Both dominated their era's
Both 100% deserve to be in the HOF and both deserve to be on the all Century team
I still stand by my statement that started with Ray and Porter Sr. (I WILL TAKE THE WRESTLER IN A FIGHT EVERY DAY OF THE WEEK)
and Ray has a much better wrestling pedigree...once again he has the accolades and stats to back that up
Porter Sr has nothing
That is where the entire disagreement started.
Appreciate your loyalty and fandom but definitely agree to disagree with you on this one.
Love that we have PSU Wrestling in common though!

That’s the rumor. I said I’d love to see him get twisted up in RAF and it set something off. I’ll admit he was an “OK” football player though (wink wink).I'm missing something. How is this RAF related? Is Ray Lewis wrestling in a future RAF event?
