Or we could pull a Kiffin and solve all our RB issues.

[BobPSU92]

Sad to make the roster and then get released early in the season.

The Eagles are down to their 3rd string back… perfect fit

They are making a big mistake. Allen is a baller

Injuries every week ...He will get picked up either for a 53 man roster or a practice squad within a month or so. If not....he will make a fantastic coach somewhere or can easily play on weekends in Canada

[Nittering Nabob]

Even in KA was allowed to return, even he couldn’t run behind Mr. Tattoo’s OL

It's because their blocking strategy is "too plain, too plain."

I'd guess he's back on Washington's practice squad once he clears waivers (unless someone does pick him up, though I'd think that's a coin flip at best).

The thing that's holding him back right now is a lack of versatility. As a 3rd/4th RB, you really need to get involved in the passing game (good catching it and/or a good pass blocker), be able to play on special teams, etc. Washington is getting McNichols back which adds some of that.

His lack of speed will be a problem for him.

Plus they brought Eckler back last week. His versatility to contribute in passing game and special teams was probably deciding factor.

I haven’t released in a few days.

I have a quick release, but it has no value.

not if he needs to have an O-line

Too slow for pro football.

Speed is an issue also. NFL is hooked on it because they have to be.

[BobPSU92]

Getting the runs in the NFL is a lot harder than in “college” ().

It is the unfortunate truth. Great college back and an alltime great at PSU (truly,) but not enough speed to play the position in the nfl.

I see the negative comments but wonder if he was so bad why did he carry the rock in the 4th quarter of the first game and helped them make a comeback. They lost 24-22 to the Eagles but he was moving the sticks with 4 carries for 16 yards in crunch time and the Commanders could have won that game.

Washington sat Croskey-Merritt after a fumble which led to Allen's carries down the stretch. But with the Ekeler signing, he's now behind Croskey-Merritt, White, and Ekeler. And McNichols will be returning soon.

He's obviously not "so bad"...but he'll almost certainly need to expand his game to make an impact in the NFL.

IDK, There are a couple of guys in the league and have been for a while, from Rutgers, that I think Krytron is or was much better than.

Comments from Commander's GM today on Kaytron

We’re not down on Kaytron at all. We really like Kaytron. You never want to release a guy at any point in time, but certainly not someone you like and who has shown promise. This may sound like GM speak, but every move you make, you’re trying to everything you can for the best of the team and win the next game and have the best season possible. For this week and moving forward, we have a lot of moves to make in the next few days to get up and play this weekend, and so that was the case of that. ... With Kaytron, he has shown a lot of promise and done a nice job. We expose him waivers, and if he doesn’t get claimed, we’d like him back on the practice squad

Commanders GM Adam Peters talks Kaytron Allen, Austin Ekeler, Nick Cross

Commanders GM Adam Peters also talked about Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, who have uncertainly playing status

That is true but typically is a team invests in one using a draft pick they stick around longer than 4 games.

Avoid doing so at games!
