Would honestly love to read whatever information you have on this. Also wondering how this plays into the marriage topic at hand.
Instead of addressing the fact in the article you came to demean men just as the radical feminists are doing. You don’t need to be a woman to be a feminist, I’m assuming that you’re not a woman.

Someone who has been in or around classrooms for 25 years, another possible reason is that there are quite a few who just don’t want to have kids. And then there’s another large population who came from a single parent family, whether it be from divorce or some other reason, And they maybe don’t want to get into potentially something similar

All good points--I don't think marriage is tied to having kids though. A lot of married couples, happily married couples, never have kids. I think the last point is dead on though--people that grew up in "broken homes" don't want to go through that in their own lives.

Have you taken notice of the 'women' of this younger generation? Fat, loud, stupid, tatted like a circus freak, purple haired ******. Not all, just 99% of them.

And the 'dudes'? My God! Same basic description.

We're dooooooomed!
I saw this stat the other day and had to Google it to verify. The average height/weight of a adult woman in the US is 5'9" and 171lbs. Add the fat, loud, stupid, tatted and I thank the lord I'm already married!

5' 3 1/2"? The average woman is pretty chubby. When I was chasing (1970 or so) I would guess it was more like 110 lbs. Glad I am no longer in chase mode.
Per chat...average weight was 135-140 for women 18-30 in the 1970s so heavier than you recall. Not much different than today...women in their 30s-50s bring up the average...same with men. People apparently stop caring at some point lol

That is an opinion piece on an obviously Conservative website with a couple of statistics about marriage in America. Tom doesn’t like politics on his board. FYI.

Mean woman height in the US is 5'4 to 5'4.5, slight overall growth in the last 25 years, men are 5'9 to 5'9.5, same there, around .5 inch growth for this generation.

your weight numbers seem to be the current averages though

So, I am employed by an engineering firm, most of the employees are Civil Engineers - reasonably bright people.

About 1/2 of the professional staff fall into the 22-39 category. I asked the single ones their thoughts on the matter.

The women (bright, articulate, reasonably good salary), indicated that they want guys who are at least equal to them in education, salary, and ambition. I know a couple of them have jettisoned boyfriends who are not "on the same level".

The men (bright, articulate, good salary), responded with "what is the point?". when asked about marriage and relationships. A couple of them even said "I get married and I lose 1/2 of it or more to someone else. What is the point?"

At some point AI/technology will solve the marriage issue, but then there will be a birth rate issue....

Today's youth are pretty dumb; kinda sums it up.

I was 36 when I pulled the trigger. Took a while to find the right one. Had dated one in college then after for 5 years but just wasn’t ready. She was and said Asta. Don’t think she ever got married. lol.

then for years dated and then especially when I lived in New York I invoked the 6 month rule. Somewhere before 6 months the chic would always turn psycho or reveal her true self which was bad!!!
Finally one woman passed the 6 month test. Took her on vacation and she was perfect. Came back and within a month proposed. She said yes and 24 years later all good with 3 beautiful smart daughters and a fat corgi.

Just my opinion. Because of internet dating, women now have a ton of options and it's easy to eliminate men when you start comparing. You will hear a lot of older people saying that they married high school sweethearts or someone they met in college. How many of those marriages would have happened if on-line dating existed? I bet not many. My guess would be those places are no longer producing most of the eventual marriages. On-line dating has opened the world, and women get to be choosier and compare; which means men have to be better and can't skate on high school glory or college "life of the party" drunk nights. The less qualified guys are out of luck and perhaps deservedly so as stated on here by several posters about the average weight of a perspective mate; the more qualified guys see risk in loosing 1/2 their stuff if they pick wrong, so they avoid it.

I got a part time job a few years ago at an arts center in the evening to pay off a few bills before retiring from my real job debt free. I don't know anything about art but the hours and pay worked. During this time I went through two bosses. Both women in their 60s and proud feminists. Both very nice but also single with cats. They would stay in the office for hours after their shift ended to chit chat (I assume because there's nobody at home). I know everyone is different but I couldn't imagine going through life with nothing to show for it but a retirement with my cat.

The article is actually non-partisan, but you allowed your innate bias to automatically dislike it because it happened to be written by a female on a website you dislike.🙄
