Iowa plays Michigan, Minnesota, and Ohio State just one time this year and they are all on the road. Meanwhile the only home game against a team expected to contend this year is USC. Other home games include the likes of Rutgers, Indiana, Northwestern, Wisconsin, and Purdue.

Iowa is the only team in the league that plays 4 of the presumptive bottom 5 at home, meaning they have a much tougher road schedule. Iowa benefited from favorable home-road splits last year, and pays the price this year.

It was the opposite last year and that helped getting to 27-7. Still, a year of experience plus the addition of strong performers provide some optimism. Lots of challenges but if some momentum can be established it can be another strong year for the WBB team. 👍

Which is why Iowa isn't picked as a top 4 team!

Torvik projections are definitely high on the Hawks!

Projected Record: 25-6 (15-4)

However, we're only getting pts in 2 projected games which implies 4 upsets against us with a projected 6 loss reg season. At least, that's how I would understand it.

Pretty much the same reg record as last year even though a much tougher road schedule than last yr.

4 BIG Top 25 at home
6 BIG Top 25 at away + 2 more in Top 30 = 8 Top 30 games (which is where the Torvik upsets can happen)

OMG...There is no value in going negative about our schedule this year... this team can win on the road. The talent is there to overcome the road games challenges. Play to their capabilities and just prove how good this team can be! Heiden and Carnegie are as good as anyone else. Stremlow, Amari, Journey and Chit-Chat have shown they can play high level winning basketball. MW might be the best freshman in the league. Faison and Hays have high upsides and may each be just "opportunity" away from solid winners. Any contribution from Bria and Ella this year being just gravy. Wherever the game is played, the score starts at 0-0 ! No need to cry when the milk has not been spilled.

I like the roster. So who do we think runs the point when Chit Chat goes out? Strem, Amari, or is that where Bria gets some minutes? That's kind of the depth question I guess this year.

Strem or Dani could run the point when Chat's off the court.
