Rosebowl teased on his podcast about a lid-blowing news story he was working on involving EMCC and Buddy Stephens. Hinted that it was likely to be pretty uncomfortable for a lot of people. Anybody have any idea, or rumors of what it all about?

Perhaps. He was responsible for taking down Freeze at mississippi so you have to give him that.
I use to think that way and he was responsible for that. However, that ultimately led them to hiring Kiffin and going on a pretty impressive 6 year run. They did have to endure a few years of rebuilding with Luke. I think Freeze's house of cards was on the verge of collapsing at Ole Miss and he would of squandered a few years.

100%
Freeze was (is) on a path of self destruction

How widespread is the appeal for a book about the downfall of Buddy Stephens at EMCC?

apparently, he filed a FOI and they (i believe EMCC) were complete dcks about it and tried to charge an astronomical amount of money to try to keep noses out of it....so that really ticked him off and that will be addressed too.....my guess is that Buddy Stephens or someone around him reached out to steve knowing his investigative background with the Freeze exposure.....steve stumbled on some juicy stuff that will tear down some bad folks.....and the fact that EMCC wasn't cooperative has given Steve even more desire to burn it down....I think this is going to a pretty big deal before its over with....

Yeah, it will. For about 10 people.

The only interesting thing to come out of this is watching Steve turn Jean's Page into The National Enquirer to try and find some relevance. The question I'd ask is what does a Mississippi State message board community care about a scandal at EMCC? 80% of the blue hairs left on that site don't even know who Buddy Stephens is.

I wonder if Rosie regrets it. He is, to a large degree, responsible for the best era of Ole Miss athletics since integration...has to make him want to pull his dreadlocks out.

Gross.

Every time I'm driving around and see some "weaves" laying in a parking lot or in the street I think about him. There is a wad of fake hair near campus that has been laying in the middle of the road by the Shell roundabout for about 2-3 weeks now. Those things must be tough

Talk about living in a tiny echo chamber. I cannot imagine thinking a book about that would be worth more than 5 minutes of effort.
It's all about the movie rights. Hollywood loves stories about football crazed, oversexed southerners. People STREAM that s4it all night.

Rosie's ready to cash in.

People who file FOIs are douches
As one who has to handle and respond to some OR/FOIA requests, I fully agree. Oh, and I firmly disagree too.

- Anyone who submits OR/FOIA requests in an effort to collect and ingest data into an AI LLM program they are creating to then sell as a product...17 those people hard.

- Anyone who submits OR/FOIA requests because they are a pathetic dork that doesnt have a life and just wants to frustrate and demoralize a public entity(town, school district, etc)...17 those people hard.

- Anyone who submits OR/FOIA requests without a specific purpose because they trawling/trolling for a possible story...17 those people hard.

- Anyone who submits OR/FOIA requests because a public entity is hiding something illegal/improper...good for them- do that.

OR/FOIA for bodycam footage that shows someone was bullied by police, mistreated by police, etc etc is absolutely good for society and should be supported.
OR/FOIA for proof that some government official overpaid on a purchase or job because their buddy made the sale is absolutely good for the community and should be supported.
OR/FOIA for internal school communication about that shows how a school is/isnt following the IDEA required steps of an IEP for a student is absolutely good for both the school AND student and should be supported.

That's like 2% of cases

I can't imagine how bad he stinks. How does one allow themselves to make this transformation AFTER getting sober?

I think people who get completely sober end up being a little 'off'. Got to have something to take the edge off.

But......people with addictive personalities sure are better off sober than not. So we have to deal with a few weirdos. Who are consequently the people who file FOIs.....

Your made up statistic aside, the 3 real scenarios I cited should be supported by everyone who values society following rules and protecting the safety and rights of individuals. Those are real examples that should show why not all OR/FOIA requests are filed by douches.

Scenarios like the 3 listed I may account for 2%, 12%, or 22% of requests...you and I don't know.
Regardless of how many requests are in the 'acceptable' categories, my point was just to say that I think there are some very legitimate reasons for OR/FOIA.

Are you not aware of the massive scandals that have been uncovered because of OR/FOIA requests? Two easy to cite examples are the Flint water scandal and the Opioid crisis. Both gained significant support due to what was discovered from FOIA requests.

No he wasn't . He can shout it from the rooftops but I won't ever believe that OM had a team of record pouring over phone records and just happened to miss a call to an escort service in Tampa. Hugh fell on the sword for the Rebels and likely got paid a lot to do it.

I for one was glad he did it. All he really did was expose the olemiss culture and fanbase for what they are. It was after that when they hired Chris Beard. Then came the whole Lane Kiffin saga... and I will say, golding's public statements and embarrassing reaction to the Clemson recruiting debacle didn't help the image at all. I'm not sure all this was Rosebowl's doing.

I know you enjoyed the winning football seasons Kiffin delivered - we all love winning, it's human nature - and I completely understand why you're holding on to the 'best era for your athletics'. That might actually be true. I mean, yes, olemiss people have told me for decades they won umpteen national championships in the 50's and 60's... but maybe last year's exciting run to the semifinals trumps all those championships, I don't know.

Anyway, I get why you are happy with last year's football team, but overall since Rosebowl's reporting, the rest of the world doesn't think olemiss came out of it looking all that great. No offense.

Maybe, maybe not but I don't see why he would have regrets because he did what 100% of journalists would have done with the same information. If Freeze continued at UM and did collapse the program Luke would have never been hired and Kiffin might have been hired anyway.

With that said I think UM getting such a early jump on NIL had as much or more to do with mississippi's run than hiring strange lane.

I get why you say that, but nobody outside of the MSU fanbase thinks that way. OM's athletics program has been on a steep upwards trajectory since Kiffin was hired and remains a top 10 football team even after a 40 point drubbing in the Swamp...that's called respect.

ETA: it wasnt just last year...we're the 3rd best program in the SEC post-covid. Only UGA and Bama have more wins. You are what the numbers say you are.
