He put the TE's to work quickly.Hopefully they pound the ball with Phillips, run play action off of that, use the tight ends and roll out hecklinski. He looks very accurate on short to intermediate routes.

I like Hank Brown. But, I hope he doesn't start this week. Give him 2 weeks to heal for the Minnesota game and also let Hecklinski prove everyone wrong or right and let the debate end there.
Sure seemed that way when he came out firing late in the 3rd. Even got a new haircut too.S
still feel the offense will get some juice with Heck. Losing the job irked him and he's eager to ball out.
Not sure I do here.I agree. If not absolutely 100%, he should not play, especially since he and Heck were supposedly neck and neck. Why risk further injury unnecessarily?
Gotta trust the staff to do the right thing.
Lester runs the shanahan system.I hope Heck gets a full game too. Seems like Hank was put in a better position the first few games.
But I think these QBs really are close, and I would bet a full game of Heck does not make the picture clearer. I feel like Heck is better at processing, but Brown generally has better physical attributes. I expect Heck will play solid and that Brown will resume as the starter against Minnesota.
Good point, I saw someone post that it didn’t matter which qb Iowa played for UW to have to prepare for, that’s not true. Hank is more of a drop back passer, Heck you will see more rollouts and throwing on the run. PURDY is a good comparison at least for the type of play calls you should see. THe defense will have to defend Heck with a different approach.Lester runs the shanahan system.
49ers are led by a short, average arm, quick processing accurate qb who has good pocket presence...purdy. Heck might be more like purdy than brown.
There was a throw to our sideline, the one where the OSU guy got hurt, that Hank's motion just looked really weird. That was after a couple of very inaccurate, should have been easy, passes. If you watch the play he threw the interception on, that was it. I can’t remember if that was the last throw or not but his arm got twisted up pretty bad badly.
You don't think throwing can further injure a shoulder sprain?I don't believe throwing is something that can cause further structural damage, in this case.
So it's probably going to be more of a case of pain tolerance, and having the range of motion to throw accurately
na, rub some dirt on it and go for a full tear. You don't think throwing can further injure a shoulder sprain?
I'm not doc. And could be wrong. You don't think throwing can further injure a shoulder sprain?
Patch it upna, rub some dirt on it and go for a full tear.
Maybe not. But throwing wasn't what caused it in the first place. Getting tackled was. And I guarantee he will get tackled on Friday, and that could risk further injury.I don't believe throwing is something that can cause further structural damage, in this case.

Have you seen our running gameHopefully they pound the ball with Phillips, run play action off of that, use the tight ends and roll out hecklinski. He looks very accurate on short to intermediate routes.
Heck didn't enter the game until the 4th quarter.Sure seemed that way when he came out firing late in the 3rd. Even got a new haircut too.
That's my point. The injury was caused by force that came at an unnatural angle. So largely, the duplication of that angle can probably be avoided.Maybe not. But throwing wasn't what caused it in the first place. Getting tackled was. And I guarantee he will get tackled on Friday, and that could risk further injury.
Even better, the Hawks put the game out reach early enough for Sully gets some snaps.I hope Heck plays the whole game and Iowa's offense looks great in a big win.
1) Iowa could use a big win.
2) Perusing this board for the following two full weeks would be priceless.
Agreed. I think Hank has done fine in 4 out of 5 games. But that was a healthy Hank.Even the big Hank fans should be rooting for Heck to start on Friday. If Hank plays he could easily aggravate the injury and be out even longer.
Agreed. Why should KF or Iowa tip the hand?I’ve heard/read enough to know that Jeremy needs to start Friday. I’m sure they’re being slightly coy to keep Washington guessing but in the end, it’s going to be Jeremy‘s ball game.
By half-time you and others will be posting to put in JH replacement.I hope Heck plays the whole game and Iowa's offense looks great in a big win.

Link to my calling for a backup QB in the middle of the game in any thread during any game in the history of Iowa football during the message board era?By half-time you and others will be posting to put in JH replacement.![]()
