Hard to see Salisbury in this shape after BH got them rolling again. Guessing Hornet nation will be looking for a change pretty soon if things don’t soon change; after seeing the recent success over the last 7 - 10 years and a State Title.

Good question. Not sure what’s going on. This is not the Salisbury program that we use to seeing. Hopefully things will turn around for them over time.

I was told a while back that the redistricting that happened there killed the program. Not sure how true it is. But seemed like the guy had insight

Here’s one reason….

To date…Salisbury has the highest SOS in all of 4a per Max Preps.

Who knew? I didn’t.

I have said it more than once. They are no longer in a 1A/2A league with 900-1000 kids playing schools teams with 350-700 kids and 25-40 players. They are playing schools their size and the natural size and speed advantage they had the last 10 years or so in 2A is gone. No more games won by simply loading the bus and walking on the field with 50 players + against marginal teams much smaller. I suspect other variables, but this one has to be part of it. One would think they would be competitive, but who knows what is going on over there. MIght be time for a change at the top.

All valid and solid points Wow71. One thing will always remain however at Salisbury HS. There will always be speed and legit “athletes” in the building. Salisbury continues to win state championships either team and or individual in track and just posted a state championship this past season in men’s basketball. The locals can only pray that the 2027 football season shows improvement. If they continue to loose in Rowan County especially to their rivals in Spencer , would imagine the admin would be looking for changes.

Is it true that Salisbury has lost some of those “athletes” to other Rowan County schools with the relatively loose enrollment policy?

Odd to see Salisbury kids wearing falcon uniforms. Then again West Rowan been doing this for decades. Hope Salisbury can bounce back

Salisbury has the athletes and typically good numbers. The level of competition is up and some may have left. There have been some years that they got some kids from other schools also. Do those tall kids from Bball play football or just focus on bball year round?

This is the first year that I've seen them be really bad. Maybe they can bounce back. I know the basketball team will be solid.
