That reminds me of the original Philadelphia Spectrum. They sold seats that were placed directly behind a stairwell.

I once had to sit behind a post at Fenway Park because it was the only seat available and I wanted to catch a game before leaving town. I had a sore neck by the time the game was over.

Eagles pre-season tickets my brother-in-law got at the Vet many years ago. They were some of the lowest in the section and we couldn't see over the players heads. Had to watch on the video board Double whammy....lousy pre-seaon game that we couldn't even see the live action.

The original Yankee Stadium, before renovations in the seventies had metal poles supporting the roof. In 1964 I was 8 years old and went to a game to see my idol, Mickey Mantle. At the time Mantle was playing left field and spent the game directly behind a pole in my line of view.
it became a semi famous game when Mel Stottlemire (rookie mid season pitching call up) hit an inside the park grand slam. With the outfield playing in Mel hit a gap line drive that ping ponged around the monuments in CF that were in play at the time.

had this issue with the PSU football game in dublin, when we were in about row 10. they played on the GAA pitch, which is about 50 yards wider than american football, so we couldn't see anything happening on the near side of the field. still an incredible experience though
