The Biggest Difference between Rutgers and Indiana is NIL

The biggest difference between the two programs is talent evaluation, player development, and coaching.

We didn’t belong on the same field as them and that is 100% on our coach.

He’s done, give it up Al, at this point you’re just an annoying troll.
Clueless. The biggest difference is they spent $4M on their quarterback and we spent a lot less on ours. They are selecting from a much better pool of players.

Of course, running your mouth as usual when you don’t even have $.20.

You have to work with what we have. We don’t have anyone to donate $20M, but we do have people who can give $20M collectively. There’s power in numbers.
There's absolutely power in numbers. The problem is there are so many fans like you that are so damn cheap, you can't even put aside $900/month for the football program. You need everyone else to do it first, and even then you'll probably stiff them and make excuses

As sure as the sun will rise in the East and set in the West.......

Before this game, YOU said that Rutgers was good enough to run the table the rest of the way because the new players were acclimated and everybody on the OL was playing in their correct positions.

Of course, after the inevitable and predictable Indiana blowout victory, we're back to fans needing to donate more. The biggest difference between RU and Indiana isn't NIL. It's coaching. There is yawning chasm between Cignetti and Schiano as coaches. Indiana has had 3 different starting QBs in the last 3 seasons. They're 32-2. They had no problem getting them ready for B1G play. Rourke was from the MAC. Mendoza was lightly recruited and REJECTED when he tried to walk on at Miami. Hoover was 9,000 yard QB that had a turnover problem. All of these players are better than they were before they got to Indiana. Meanwhile, RU turned Lonergan and Surace into INT machines. That's not a lack of money. That's bad coaching.
It’s only coaching because you don’t want to donate, so cut the BS. Rourke was paid a solid 6 figures. Mendoza got $2.6M. Hoover got $4M. As I pointed out in the OP, they went out and bought better talent like the OL transfer from Wisconsin, whereas we’re getting OL from Eastern Michigan. Wake Up!

What changed between the time before the game, when YOU said that RU was going to run the table starting with Indiana and now, when you're saying that RU can't compete because of inferior bargain basement talent?

NW could be spending at least $5M more, which is not a small amount. They also spent $1B+ in facilities, so are you just going to ignore that?
lol @ "could be"....just MAKING **** UP AGAIN to support you ridiculous narratives.....ENOUGH!!!! NW and Minny are perfect examples of spending the same on your roster BUT coaching fycking matters!!!!!!!

I said we had an opportunity not a guarantee. We played the game, which is kind of important to make a direct comparison. And we found out we didn’t measure up.

Please stop making an a$$ of yourself with every post. We’ve embarrassed ourselves in every game this year (save for maybe an unmotivated USC) with the collective product we’ve put in the field. - QB, DB, DL, you name it. Teams with FAR LESS NIL than us have performed far better than we have, and teams with comparable NIL (Northwestern, Iowa, etc) have good wins and competitive losses. We have none of that.

That is on the now lame duck head coach. The university and the state need to step up and end the biggest heist in NJ history. $6.5 mm / year for these results is criminal. And he can take his nepo babies with him.

YOU said that RU lost to UMass and BC because of bargain basement talent. Then you said that this bargain basement talent had a chance to beat the undefeated defending National Champions. Now you're saying RU doesn't measure up. All the players are the same. What changed?

We already have a >$20M roster, one of the most expensive staffs and we suck.

we wouldn’t even contend for the Sun Belt, MAC, CUSA or Mt West we are that bad on D and nothing special on O.

People loved to point out that Rutgers should have been able to beat UMass and Boston College with the support it had. And that is true. But Indiana and USC are a different story, as they are in a much higher weight class, and spent a lot more money in the transfer portal.

More money brings the #1,Transfer class, with better trench play and better quarterback play. Curt Cignetti flat out stated what the difference in the programs was, in his press conference.

“It takes a certain amount of financial commitment to be successful”

IU football coach Curt Cignetti says programs like Rutgers can emulate the Hoosiers' remarkable success, provided all the right pieces are put in place. Right now Rutgers simply cannot match Indiana’s financial commitment.

We thought we would be more competitive in the trenches and at quarterback, but that flatly wasn’t the case, and that a lot of that is due to the quality of transfers:
  • Indiana brought in Josh Hoover, who previously threw for 9,629 yards at TCU, paying him $4M
  • Rutgers brought in Dylan Lonergan who is still acclimating to the Big Ten, while losing Athan Kaliakmanis to the NFL. Ultimately a big step down
  • Joe Bruner a Wisconsin transfer, took an Indiana payday, rather than enter the NFL draft
  • Rutgers brought in OL that haven’t started
  • Rutgers lost Bo Mascoe to Texas and replaced him with a DB that can’t make an open field tackle

Ultimately Indiana brought in seasoned professionals while Rutgers brought in developmental kids, because we didn’t have budget to do otherwise. And that is the biggest difference between the two programs.

You = Moron

That is all.

Zinn is cutting NIL deals worth millions for Rutgers. $20k isn’t moving the needle, you’re a bit out of touch with reality as usual.

@Caliknight - get a good laugh over this one.
Al's donation.....even if real.....is literally meaningless. Spitting in the ocean. All good programs have landed whales. That's all the matters. Whales.

He’s admitted to only paying for a single ticket and parking pass. Not really a donation but rather cost of admission.

Stop being a F’ing idiot.
Complete nonsense. We played competitively against BC and USC. Indiana was above our weight class and UMass was an embarrassment. Win against Maryland gets us back on track.

Why did you think we could measure up?

If money is so significantly important - and it was well known how far ahead Indiana is in total roster spending - why would you think we even had an opportunity?

If coaching has a near meaningless impact - what made you think Rutgers even had a chance?

This is the smartest post AL has ever made

he said at 2-4 we are back on track

he’s right. A 4-8 season is probably what we deserve talent wise at best
