We Deserve Better
Since you weren't academically qualified to attend PSU, you shouldn't claim any part of same....including your use of "we"

It's unfortunate that, in your youth, you didn't apply yourself in the classroom. As a result you ended up at that that thing they call Hilltop High....aka Mansfield.

Don't blame us for your poor decisions in life.

The silver lining is the team is going to get so bad the next coach and ad wo t have to worry about honoring joe. All they will have to do is win.

Is 5-7 throwaway or were you thinking of another set of numbers?
7-5 was always a realistic expectation. We're lucky our schedule is easy. We brought in a bunch of 3 star talent to replace the holes in our lineup and even with that, we're still short on players at key positions. Plus, we replaced an entire coaching staff. I'm also sure there are some issues with the cohesiveness of the team given the short time you had to get returning players to gel with the new guys.

At least they kinda honored Joe this year with the exhibit. That has to be a net positive
Let's not forget the lettermen feel welcome again so that is probably the biggest W around. Some of the BS the HC at PSU has to deal with from old men who still worship other old men is moronic. I think what people may finally realize is that some of the BS they are hung up don't matter if you cannot win games. Buy hey let's go blue hens as any HC can win the simple games you're supposed to is what I was told for a few years now. I really hope MC turns it around, but it won't surprise me if PSU is the coaching wash cycle for a decade or so.

We spend $26 mi on the roster in a "throw away" season? Really? Why didn't we keep our powder dry if this was a "throw away" season? Your post makes zero sense.
I don't know if "always going to be a throwaway season" is the right way to phrase it, maybe wait and see. But I never understood how everyone was hyped up about this. You take a coach and his team from the Big 12 that was mediocre (5-4) in a mediocre conference and drop them in the big 10 and believe they are going to make the playoffs, always seemed far fetched to me. They were not ranked at the end of last season (ISU) and essentially you take the same team put them in a much more difficult conference and the start the season in the top 20? I think they struggled in each of the first three games. They have an offensive line that could not push around lesser opponents and running backs that had a hard time recognizing holes when they had some openings. Rocco did not impress me either. So I was holding my breath going into the Wisconsin game.

I never heard of this guy Matt Campbell until he was brought to Penn State. As far as brining in the ISU guys, I am not sure there was much more he could do with how late in the game he was hired. Plus most of our recruits and team had either followed Franklin to Virginia Tech or went elsewhere. So we will see what happens the rest of this season and what he does in the off season. that will be the tale of the tape. Based on that, I will be much more opinionated next year.

As far as keeping "our powder dry". They way college football is now. I am not sure that is possible. Considering that OSU spent ~43.5 million, 26 doesn't seem like much. Hopefully some key building blocks got a good share of the 26. But yeah "a throw away season", not how I would have phrased it but it wasn't going to be a season that I was going to write home about.

Your rant is akin to something gunsy would compose. The Return key occasionally wants to be your friend. :sneaky:

Matt Campbell he's our man if he can't do it Pat Kraft can! Winning is so overrated. :sneaky: Excellence at the highest level is where it's at! :ROFLMAO:

7-5 looks realistic to you??? WTF are you watcching? Which 4 b1g games are we winning playing the way we have in our first 2 b1g games??? Our offense is horrendous and our defense is the slowest, softest and least competitive I have ever seen at PSU.
