Per Swarmcast pod at the end, Apparently KF said both Lee and Lutmer are fine, just cramps. Hank mild shoulder sprain. pretty good news overall. Anybody hearing anything else?
Sounded like he specifically said cramps regarding those two though. I don’t think he’d say it was cramps if he didn’t know that’s what it was.I think everything we hear after Kirk's post game comments is just conjecture. We'll get an official word from Kirk again on Tuesday. On the bright side, DJV, Moulton, and Phillips appear to be healthy again. But Phillips was limited in his seemingly limited in his snaps. Had a few good runs before the half and I wished we had used him more.
First of all, if the team Drs clear him to play then they will consider how well he can throw it. If he is cleared but not 100% throwing it then he is an emergency QB and start Heck. There should be protocols first and not stupidity. We should never find out a less than 100% player a QB is playing instead of an equal who is 100% healthy. If Brown has a sprain to his throwing shoulder, it's not gonna heal enough in 6 days for him to be effective against a Washington team that will be "all hands on deck" to save their season.
And if Kirk truly f***ing believes THAT is still our best option at QB then they have once again failed their entire program and squandered yet another season and roster-worth of talent with more mismanagement at the most important position in the f***ing sport...............
Play Hecklinski and live with the consequences, good or bad. Stop being afraid of a f***ing QB controversy in the middle of the season. Do what's best for your team in order to WIN games.
And again if a less than 100% QB with a sprain to his throwing shoulder is your best bet after spending an entire preseason in a battle for the starting job............then you have a f***ing problem.
Win games first. Deal with the "controversy" later. And yes I know that's never been Kirk, so I fully expect to see a hobbled Hank Brown trot out there on Friday and continue to be ineffective.![]()
Reminds me of night game vs NW where Petras was banged up. Should’ve never played and he was out next couple of weeks but played first few series and was so ineffective. Not until it was obvious did he finally put Padilla in.We’ve seen this how many times, Hank will start hell or high water.
I do NOT trust The Capt to make a correct decision regarding QBs, never have.Reminds me of night game vs NW where Petras was banged up. "Heck might be a little better runner." Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, Hank's not a runner at all. Heck is, which is another strike against him as far as KF is concerned. KF loves him some statues back there at QB. Stand back there and get sacked, no problem. When a QB can run, like MG last year, defenses have to account for 11 players instead of only 10. That's one of the MANY problems with what is generously referred to as the "Iowa running game."First of all, if the team Drs clear him to play then they will consider how well he can throw it. Especially when we cant run the ball and Heck might be a little better runner
You get it.I do NOT trust The Capt to make a correct decision regarding QBs, never have.
Then you don't know Iowa football. We’ve seen this how many times, Hank will start hell or high water.
i am Doubtful Hank plays, will Get an mri but if he has pain raising that shoulder Heck going to start.
KF hated Mark Gronowski ? Where are you getting this from ?"Heck might be a little better runner." Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, Hank's not a runner at all. Heck is a runner, which is another strike against him as far as KF is concerned. KF loves him some statues back there at QB. Stand back there and get sacked, no problem. And in his one series against OSU, Heck threw darts--tight spirals perfectly placed and exactly on time. He got rid of the ball quickly while Hank was standing around and getting sacked or missing WIDE OPEN receivers by yards.
Maybe what we saw on kids' day is really who these guys are. In more than a quarter century of opportunities, KF has yet to make the right decision on a QB, even on one who went on to be a Heisman runner-up.
Hecklinski's an athlete. Brown is KF's most coveted commodity--a game manager--and yet the game manager turned it over twice on Saturday and was fortunate he didn't have another INT or two. KF says ball security is the #1 attribute he wants in a QB. If so, maybe KF should use the injury excuse to let an athlete have an opportunity to play QB and open up this offense. After all, KF himself said the QB competition was "even." And yet Brown has started every game. Some competition. Time for a change.
And... you're insane."Heck might be a little better runner." Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, Hank's not a runner at all. Heck is a runner, which is another strike against him as far as KF is concerned. Hey, we have fans stating our coach hated our QB last year merely because he could run. And that Iowa football will trot out a QB with an injured throwing shoulder when there are healthy, capable, alternatives. And your call name fits you aptly.
Lutmers looked like a cramp when he was on the field trying to straighten his leg, and point his toe. Hopefully he and Lee are good to go. Were already down brown in the back end.Per Swarmcast pod at the end, Apparently KF said both Lee and Lutmer are fine, just cramps. Hank mild shoulder sprain. pretty good news overall. Your continued nonsense is baffling if expected. Please provide evidence, (not opinion) that Hecks a better runner. Based on what exactly. As for your third paragraph I already addressed how much crap that was. MANY of those were not nearly as big a mistake as you and others keep pointing out AT the time the decisions were made.Ruddock was pretty solid at QB and went on to start at Michigan, had a solid year there, and hung in the NFL for a number or years. I know just another KF mistake, but provide evidence that Beathard was the better option that year. Banks was NOT ready to be a B1G QB when he got to Iowa. He played some the first year but needed seasoning and time learning the position. He had limited experience as a college QB even at the JC level. If he had played poorly being thrown in with his limited experience, it quite possible he'd NEVER have had the 2002 season he had. Not sure how old you are, but its obvious you missed your calling if your not coaching at some D1 school or NFL team with your robust knowledge of QB's you never even seen practice."Heck might be a little better runner." Hmmmmmmmmmm. Well, Hank's not a runner at all. Heck is, which is another strike against him as far as KF is concerned. KF loves him some statues back there at QB. Maybe what we saw on kids' day, when Heck outplayed Brown by miles, is really who these guys are. In more than a quarter century of opportunities, KF has yet to make the right decision on a QB, even on one who went on to be a Heisman runner-up.

From the same pile of horse hockey he always gets his "information" from.KF hated Mark Gronowski ? Where are you getting this from ?
I can only hope and pray that you are correct re: Phillips and B Jackson.should be a great opportunity for Hecklinski and a spark for the offense. I also think B Jackson and Phillips are going to get more and more carries.
