Sterling 34 – Geneseo 31: Very back and forth game, as a good rivalry game should be. Both teams traded scoring drives, with Geneseo being held to a field goal on its first drive looking like the difference. Sterling’s screen game allowed the running lanes to open up and Cobey Shipma took advantage with 160 and 4 TD’s. What also helped was QB Brady Berlin was 22-24 for 268. Geneseo would finish with 315, all on the ground.
Galesburg 56 - Quincy 42: All the offense showed up for this one as both teams would trade blows to a 28-28 halftime score. Quincy would drive down and score to start the second half, but then Galesburg would take over as they would score, force a punt, drive and take the lead. Quincy would answer to tie it at 42, but Galesburg would score the last two touchdowns for an impressive win.
United Township 42 - Rock Island 7: Never little to say on this one. UT rolled to over 400 yards and 42 points in the first half and never looked back. Rocky continues to fall apart with a now offensive powerhouse Galesburg and top of the conference Sterling still to go.
Moline had the week off as they did not find a replacement for Alleman.
