Amazing that some belive the hc calls the offensive or defensive plays. KC has somehow been largely removed from criticism for all his inside the red zone problems (which existed here and at previous stops). And for not knowing what he had in AK until it was almost done and he had him in Minn and RU.

Yes there are big picture dictates, but there has been clear delagation in 2.0 and I would argue not for the better. In 1.0 we had all the USF trick plays and punt blocks. In early 2.0 such as against Oh St we emptied trick plays and were not conservative. GS seems to have bent to the micromanager as a negative thought process and been hands off in many regards re play calls (see Gleeson play calls, Smith etc).

When did the D get better--when he releived Robb Smith. When in 1.0 was it good--when he was the dc and hc. So yes the hc can be blamed for the hiring and implementation of generlaized game plans. But when it has been indicated he defers to KC on offense for last few years and KC is the one who utilized AK as he did, let's not mix facts on why the offense has been called as it has.

An NFL Oline along with RBs, WRs and NFL coaching might have something to do with his success too.
Washington’s O line sucked today

Duff will be an NFL first rounder
Strong will be a late round pick
Raymond will be a late round pick
Sheffield got a look in this years preseason

coach is a pu$$y

he doesn’t call plays but he sure can say if you don’t use those 2 studs I’ll fire you tonight

We had better talent last year than what they ran out today.
Ok, how many of those guys are now in the League?

Look, we all wanted more production and results while he was here. But the overall supporting cast for Athan is better now, including coaching than before.

His supporting cast is not better now relative to the competition he is playing. Their best receiver didn’t play. They had to sign a running back who hadn’t played in over a year. Duff would be WR1 on the team Washington ran out there today. Strong WR3. Raymond RB1 a or b.

To say he has better coaching would be correct.

It’s the reason why all the other stuff didn’t work.

And the reason why we’ll have a new one very soon.🙂

KC runs an offense that Greggo approves of. If the HC wanted more go routes, we would have seen them. He doesn’t. Too risky. KCs offense is exactly what Schiano loves. Runs and low risk quick hitting outs. Anything to mitigate turnovers. Schiano’s wet dream. Except it’s an illusion. We didn’t turn the ball over yesterday and Schiano’s team got sodomized.

Schiano ball *might work against teams that are a notch below. Any near or uneven match and it’s complete impotence. His methods will never spring an upset. Weak and feckless with zero belief in his teams to make actual athletic football plays. Guys must be wondering why he even recruited them. He doesn’t believe in them.

PI wasn’t called on 2 of his passes
He has hit 2 of them and one for a TD

there is no other coach beside pu$$y balls Schiano that would not have thrown 8 deep bombs to Duff and Strong EVERY SINGLE GAME .
Rutgers should’ve run double moves almost every other passing attempt
Cool faux outrage

Dude made OSU level talent look mediocre. There is a reason he didn’t sniff that job when he was in position to. Like the NFL, OSU saw what he wasn’t very quickly. Harisymiak went to UMass which was the last time opened looked even serviceable. Schiano had them for a month before the bowl game. They got rung up like a it was a cash register. The alarm bells went off then and there. Whether D coaching skills he may have had many years ago were gone. The game passed him by.

Facts va agenda Cali- cmon you acknowledged your personal bias against GS and those that you know or know of that you feel have been treated badly. The repeated blaming of GS for specific play is just factually wrong and anyone within any knowledge of operations would know that.

Yes, if in general, he wanted more long balls he can indicate that -it doesn’t mean on a specific second or third down that it would get called by the hc necessarily. Was just trying to keep the facts from the fiction and we get it as to the take that gs is both a bad coach and bad person. We’ve heard the repeated ad hominem attacks against the current coach and the point is known. Saying that he makes every single call is just wrong and just digs one self deeper lnto personal emnity which has been stated ad nauseum and of which there is no question.

To say it was gs and not kc who directed the use of AK is just wrong and reveals bias, not facts

He doesn't but he can tell coordinator what he wants. If he told the OC that he expect 8 deep balls a game then that what he will call .Now as far as KC goes, who hired KC?

And that GS made a mistake in keeping him on and or not giving him a more detailed mandate for the offense they utilized the rare combination of skill players on the squad

Actually- Lst year, AK had a ton of growth and that is why he is in the league right now- of all the GS screwups- AK is the one that should bother anyone the least. Greg did a really good job with him.

Kirk ran same condom offense in Minnesota and had all the same complaints from fans. One year he had good talent and it looked like the Gopher gods were smiling. Then everything reverted back to pumpkin. KC knows what GS does and what he has to do.

Its like Schiano wants to open an Italian restaurant and he tells chef he wants all green pasta, garden pizza, tripe, pajata and casu marzu. Then the chef cooks it all up as he decides, and when business is bad Schiano says "I dind't tell him how to cook! anything?

GS, KIrk, PJ Fleck the three "safety first" amigos

Speaking of Fleck - he looks like he's losing his mind wiping players blood on his face
