Game: We had to have Fluff and KT healthy and play a completely clean game…..and probably have a little help from Bama to even have a shot. We kind of got the help from Bama, but we dang sure didn’t have those two healthy and we were about as far from having a clean game as you can get. The turnovers a stupid penalties killed any remote shot at even being competitive. I think a lot of you are kind of selling Bama short though. This is what they have been doing all season. They are pretty dang good. you also saw why KT didn’t play anymore than he did last year.

Season and going forward: I will absolutely take where we are right now, I predicted 2-10 remember. We have two good wins. Minnesota has looked pretty dang good since we beat them, and Missouri is giving Florida all they want right now. The open date could not have come at a better time. We have to get some people healthy. We have one more sure win. The other three at home are going to be tough games, but we ought to be in them with a decent shot at wins, provided we don’t loose KT and Fluff. I don’t think we have a shot at any the three road games. Honestly if KT and Fluff are still nursing nagging injuries, I sit them for LSU. If we could get to 7 wins that would be a sign of much progress and give us some momentum going into next year. Concentrate on the remaining home games. Take things in perspective. This is THE biggest rebuild job in my lifetime for MSU football, and the first coach I remember is Tyler. Its hard to overestimate how bad we were after the Arnett season.

I take some solace in this:
Minnesota just beat Michigan
South Carolina currently beating Kentucky 17-0
Missouri up 10 on Florida at halftime, and have allowed the greatest runner in history 12 yards on 9 carries. Fluff got his 100+ on that same bunch.
That we've already beat all those teams tells me we're better than what we saw today.

Repeated mistakes today. Some of KT's mistakes were related to Fluff being hout. Losing another LB hurts. Hopefully Tillman back for LSU. It was an awful performance, but we still moved the ball on them fairly well in real game time before things got out of hand. I don't feel good about the LSU game, but I hope we can get everything in place for Oklahoma. Still think we can get 8-9 wins on the year.

I think a lot of, if not all of, KT bad passes were the ankle. He was arming throws because he couldn’t put any weight on that leg.

I think we are in a really good place, and our off week comes at perfect time.

I really believed we beat bama, but I saw a really good bama team with great running game......I like to discount them b/c of Deboer....but he may have assembled a great staff, and using NIL to build self sustaining powerhouse

We are better than we thought, and we need to get some folk healthy again

I’m with you. We’re far better than I thought we would be. After last season and looking at this schedule, I honestly thought 3–4 wins was probably our ceiling.

At this point, I think we have a legitimate shot in every remaining game outside of Texas and possibly LSU. If I’m JL, I might seriously consider resting KT and FB even if they’re cleared for Saturday. I’d much rather have both of them healthy for the rest of the season than risk aggravating something.

Fluff out made the game one-dimensional and KT was off his mark and didnt want to run on his ankle. Then spotting them 14 to front. It was the worst they could play against a good, not great, team.
👆 this. I now understand why Fluff has carried the load all year. When it was apparent that KT would not take off running and we had no inside running game it was over. It is puzzling why JJ didn't get a shot or two.

If KT and FB are not healthy our win projections go from 7-9 down to 5-7, something like that. Oklahoma Vandy and Auburn were “wins” in my book but may now be dogfights. If you take any of the 3 prongs out of our offense and it change everything in a major way.

I had heard the hamstring rumor also. Can't remember who said it but it was Robbie or Steve or ?? If K1 has a sore hammy, bad ankle and turf toe plus was running a fever, its criminal that Lebby didn't hold him out. As a coach you have to be smart enough to take care of your players. They wanna play but somebody has to say no. Without Fluff and K1 healthy we are gonna struggle against Auburn much less the rest.

You know what really sucks? If you had told me before the season... "Hey Seinfeld, give me two players on offense and two on defense that we absolutely can't lose to injuries", I'd easily have said K1, Fluff, Jones, and Smith.

And here we are...

All four of them are battling, but clearly injured
