Real test coming up at Oregon in a couple weeks.

“I don’t want to be in a situation where we are limiting ourselves, or we make excuses,” Chesney said last weekend after UCLA’s dismantling of Maryland.

In Chesney’s first season. With 62 new players. With a godawful recent history at UCLA of who cares and why bother.

So they hired Chesney, a grinder of a coach who made Holy Cross, of all places, a fixture in the FCS playoffs. Who followed Curt Cignetti at James Madison, and rebuilt JMU after Cignetti took his best players with him to Indiana.

Then did what Cignetti couldn’t do: get JMU to the College Football Playoff.

Chesney took a majority of his staff from JMU (like Cignetti did at Indiana), and took 11 players (Cignetti took 13). He took the no excuse culture Cignetti built at JMU — one he fed and grew — and brought it to Westwood.

The overlooked and the under-recruited, given a chance at the big time — and squeezing the very life from it.

Wayne Knight rushed for nearly 1,400 yards last year at JMU. He has 445 in four games at UCLA, and nine touchdowns.

Riley Robell and Carter Sweazie were stalwarts on the JMU offensive line, and have brought toughness and attitude to a program that had none.

Looks like a close photo finish in the UNT Tulsa game and Tulsa also got a TD that shouldn't have counted.

Pitt looks completely outclassed. Pitt/ACC somehow made a schedule where they will only face a single Top #25 team. Now that's an impressive feat for a P4 school.

Now Franklin is going to be proclaimed the second coming. But a schedule of VMI, Old Dominion, Maryland (35-26) and BC (21-14) isn't exactly anointment time. Well, it may just be in the ACC, where mediocrity gets you into the championship game.

Yea Pitt has come out shell shocked but still early.

Surprised at some of the missed tackles from a Narduzzi defense. It is raining though.

LOVE the “ standing student section.” again, similar to what they’ve been doing at new MLS stadiums and soccer stadiums around the world. Not like the old standing only sections, these have railings between each row, and usually cup holders as well, which is pretty ******* awesome!

The “supporters wall” at Inter.co Stadium in Orlando (we took a tour in February, for our alcohol Brand, as we are now distributed in Florida and probably going to sign a deal with the stadium/club starting next season).
