@AreYouNUTS mentioned the weight of the Knight’s armor. I’m sure there might be something to that too.

But like I said, I seem to recall the part of about the horse (and rider) not being allowed to run freely.
well that would be Rutgers not to factor that in. Some of the smartest people in America at the school and they can't figure this out? so Rutgers

To be honest, if this field thing happens, I could see the Cannon being moved somewhere else.

But actually getting rid of it I don’t know about that.

How would revolutionary traditionalist feel about a non-authentic cannon. AC/DC uses some sort of cannons for their iconic For Those About to Rock We Salute You in their stage shows with the band directly in front of the cannons. Would the traditionalists not accept this, even if Rutgers still had the Revolutionary War crew firing the non-authentic cannon? Cued up to the cannons:

I know some people don’t like the part about it being old men, which I can understand a little bit. Just a little bit.

But I do like the idea some mentioned about incorporating the students with it as well. I think there should be some sort of a recruitment drive, tryouts and a little bit of a big deal when somebody “makes the team.”

I don’t think it would ever be able to be sold with a height or size requirement, that would be too tough to enforce at a school like ours.

I do feel we should do that for away games, when there are Troopers alongside whoever the coach is at the time. I don’t think it should be RUPD. I’d like to see the biggest Troopers on the job next to the head coach at away games. And if one or two of those guys are alumni from the Football team, so much the better.

Was wondering about other schools' traditions.

Apparently, Ralphie the Buffalo retired at University of Colorado, and a new buffalo is in training. Ralphie retired due to an indifference to running.

LSU apparently retired the live tiger at the beginning of the game, and in 2024, the Governor supported the return

There's nowhere else to put it on the field other than the North end zone corners.

Well, it was in the Concourse for a little bit. Behind Section 132.

The barrel faced outward and it was thru the fence.

Awful look.👎🏻

That's my point. It needs to be on the field and those are the only 2 corners.

What happened to the cannon in the second half of the Indiana game?

Not the first time someone decided not to fire it in a blowout but it's been a while. Silly not to fire it.

In addition to my season tix for Rutgers, I have field club seats for Texas (both my daughters go there) that are kinda exactly what they are trying to replicate. In terms of the section itself, inside under the seats (think the RU recruiting porch but on the ground level) behind the endzone they have a setup similar (but better) than the Provident Bank Club - cash bar, complimentary buffet, tons of seating and TVs, etc. You can move back and forth between sitting in your actual seat in the endzone stands and watching the game / hanging out on the field level right behind the endzone. That part itself kinda sucks for watching a game as you might suspect unless its the scoring endzone and you see the scoring play, otherwise its really hard to see what's going on even if your front row leaning agains the cushion. The cool feature of Texas' version is the team run-out tunnel runs right through the middle of the field club, so they seal off a corridor and fans can line up and high five the team and Bevo when they run out, kinda like what a lot of the pro teams do and the new Northwestern stadium.

To be able to buy seats in that section it was a chunky donation and then the seats themselves are pricey but not outrageous - so would definitely help Rutgers revenue if they can get people to actually step up for them. Not the best time to announce this stuff for Rutgers in that its hard to think that people are currently willing to spend more than they are now for a terrible product, but by the time its completed who knows (fingers crossed)
