Following the official release of the team schedule yesterday, I went ahead and put together a broad strokes preview of each date on Iowa’s calendar for the upcoming season:

There will be a different cadence to the 2026-27 schedule for sure, with just four duals listed before the New Year.

As for some of the headline dates:

11/22 - vs Iowa State
12/11 - @ UNI
1/2-1/3 - Soldier Salute
1/24 - vs Ohio State
2/5 - @ Penn State
2/12 - vs Nebraska
2/21 - vs Oklahoma State
3/6-3/7 - Big Tens (Columbus)
3/18-3/20 - NCAAs (St. Louis)

Thanks Tanner for the summary. Do you ever hear anything about women returning to the Soldier Salute? Best match I ever saw there was a Hawk beating another very talented wrestler by a score of like 24-23 or something similar on the women's side. I think starting last year they began a tournament called For Her to put the focus on women at a women's only tournament. Anyway, wish we could get them back into SS in the future.

You’re talking about the “For Her Duals” - which was started last year because the move of the Soldier Salute from late December to early January put it too close to the women’s National Duals.

The Iowa City Sports Commission really wanted to continue hosting an event for the women’s program as well, so the For Her Duals was born.

That will continue going forward, with the latest edition set for January 23-24 - now expanding to a two-day format with 16 total teams.
